has anyone used digital rev?

I actually used both to get my 5Dmk3 and battery grip. I got the camera from ******* and the grip from Digi rev. Both dispatched at the same time, same shipping routes and Digi rev beat ******* by 2 hours delivering purely due to shipping within the UK.

I can't fault either. ******* sent me the wrong spare battery (I have a spare LP-E8 I'll never use now :D) and when I contacted them, they said it was a stupid error by someone at the warehouse and sent me the correct battery, which arrived a few days later. Not a problem as I have the same batteries in my 60D :)

I'll be using Digi rev December/January to order the new Canon flash as ******* don't seem to stock them.

Oh, I got my 35L & 85L from ******* at the same time too. So much bubble wrap you could drop them off the Empire state building and they wouldn't break :D

Thanks for the reply. Whats the deal with the warranty on the mark III from *******?

Oops didn't notice the reply to my post :o

******* basically have a 1 year return to base replacement warranty. It's free with some items, but others you'll have to pay £8 I think.

I purchased a Canon 1100d from DR about 3 months ago. Delivery was quick and the product was rediculously well packaged.

Unfortunately a couple of days ago it's developed the dreaded "err 30" error, so it needs to be sent back for repair.

This will be interesting.....

I ordered the 600EX-RT from ******* 4 weeks ago, I couldn't find it on their website, but they do sell it, send them an email.

I had an S100 develop a lens error and digitalrev handled the repair process brilliantly. They asked me to get a quote for a repair and for the repair company to say the fault would have been covered by warranty normally. I used a canon repair centre who confirmed the costs and that warranty would normally have covered it. Digitalrev looked over the quote and agreed to pay the cost (more than 50% of the replacement value) so I authorised the repair. Once the repair was complete I paid for it and forwarded the bill to digitalrev who quickly refunded me.

Ahh thats interesting, my heart sank as soon as I saw the error on the lcd, as i knew it was going to be a pain to sort. Hopefully I have a similar experience to you!

I'll report back when I know more.

how the you get on with the repair?

thinking about getting a 650d from drev?

err...whut?

The charger has a fold-out 2-pin plug underneath it which i then inserted into a shaver plug which was in turn plugged into the mains.
There are no cables or transformers involved.

you keep on saying its a shaver plug. IT IS NOT a shaver plug, its a Japan 8303 plug that simply needs a UK adapter attached to it.

Iv used mine since the dawn of time, given that the UK battery charger I also have has never worked.

A lot of that article is the worst case scenario.

I've bought a lot from a seller we can't mention on here any more and have received great service and after service.

The article is written by someone from Sigma so isn't particularly impartial either.

'Interesting' price increases at *******. Their prices have suddenly gone higher than the UK high street! A Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II is suddenly £220.

They're apparently blaming the value of the pound. I suspect there is a little more to it than that. :p

Also interesting that ******* is starred out by OcUK.

^ Sounds like you aren't talking about Digital Rev.

No, it's the one beginning with a P.

Just thought it's interesting about the HUGE price hike whilst Digital Rev's prices have stayed relatively stable.

Canon 17-40 f4 L - £539 Digital Rev, £631 at P.

Nikon 70-200 F4 - £1,019 DR, £1,151 at P.

Nikon D800 - £1,929 at DR, £2,020 at P.

Greetings,

I'm hoping to get a new Canon 600EX RT flash from somewhere. I was recommended DR, But very sceptical.

& Even more tempted to get a small loan out for 5D MK 3 :o

Sceptical about what exactly, they've been around for years and very few people have had any issues, tbh I hear more negative stories about UK based retailers

Just a warranty I guess. Though my 400D has been fine since 2006 with no hiccups via Jessops (rip) :P
