has anyone used digital rev?

Brought a 550d from them, no problem at all. They warrant themselves for one year, after that your on your own but thats the choice you take for the cheep initial purchase.

Except that the goods are already in this country when they are dispatched.

There is zero risk of VAT or import duty. As far as the consumer is concerned, that is dealt with.

What does that have to do with UK warranty? Kersos Cameras won't have them either since they are US stock. Lenses are worldwide so not an issue

Digital Rev has been around for ages.
In 2004 I bought a 100-400L IS, 24-70 F2.8 L and a 17-40 F4 L from them.

Expect to pay import duty though.

Not the post he quoted I didn't. That one I am talking about not having to deal with the risk of import tax and VAT.

The other post was 3 days before the last one!

If you look on the bay, DR also keep some of the stock in their UK wherehouse so customers don't pay additional VAT.

Purchased my 35mm from *******, was the cheapest place on the interwebs, but had seen one bad'ish review on the 'photography forum' that countless people linked to it seems, all other reviews seemed ok though.
Anyway, didn't have to pay any additional vat and duty and now delighted with my purchase...

According to DR imports taxes and fees are covered in the price. If for any reason you are charged anything they promise to reimburse. Can't find it now but saw on another forum a couple of people who were charged about £30 but got that back soon after.

I've had huge problems with digital rev on two occasions now (gave them a second chance). I will never use them again.

both times i ordered they insisted on a security audit which delayed the order. ok I could understand to an extent the first time but not having to jump through all the hoops second time.

they said things were dispatched when they did't have in stock
they then lied about having said dispatched but i had the email
they then lied about the above.
in the end had to go to arbitration with them (i was spending many 1000s with them.
as they had my money and hadn't sent the kit (as it wasn't in stock)
to apologise they offered me a £10 mem card. which worked out at about 0.02percent of the vvalue of the order.
final insult
be aware.
