Haswell -E Core i7-5960X, 5930K, 5820K specifications

Japan has very highly inflated retail prices so that no indication at all

Mealy depends on the product, I came back from holiday there in late may, while some motherboards and graphics card where similar or more than UK online prices I found things like SSD's and Ram to be anywhere from 10-20% cheaper.

I had to resist buying a load of of stuff while i was out there !

Found the same when I went last May. a lot of PC hardware were £30 to £60 cheaper than the UK prices.

But Japan don't have a rip off tax system like we do here.

I was hoping to go all out and get 32Gb of Ram for my X99 build but price may very well limit that. I guess 16Gb will have to do, and then when DDR4 matures and gets faster and prices come down upgrade to 32Gb.

When are these due out? and any idea other then "2015" for Skylake?

Intel CPU's seem to be moving so fast atm, feels like only yesterday Sandybridge came out and since then we have Haswell, Sandybridge-E and now Haswell-E and within 12 months we have Skylake?

Just but 2x8GB then get another 2 when you can afford it, the board will run in dual channel and dual channel DDR4 is still way more than you need for any normal software or game.

The Core i7-5960X, Intel’s first 8-Core desktop CPU: Fast, expensive, and coming soon

After countless articles and much anticipation, Intel is reportedly about to release some of the first desktop processors based on its Haswell-E specifications, which will, of course, support DDR4 memory and 8-core processors. However, of the three Haswell-E Core i7 CPUs expected, only one of them, the Core i7-5960X, will actually come with 8 cores, and it will sell for $999. The other two, the i7-5930K and i7-5820K, will contain only 6 cores, which is the same number found in the current Ivy Bridge-E generation processor.

8 core Intel? Not sure whether they need it or not. They don't have many hexacores out there atm.

Not sure what the differences (other than clock speed and that PCI configuration) will be between the 5930k and the 5820k. Be very nice if money came around in time for all this. Bout a year to start saving. XD

Awwww... this could see me parting with my 920 @ 4Ghz finally. Farewell old friend you've served me well and frankly waaaayyyy longer than expected :)

Anyone like to take a good guess how long PCI Express 3 will be good for on Haswell-e? PCI Express 4 is already coming next year. Is 3 expected to be bottlenecking cards any time soon then?

I wonder if Intel has any plans to bring out any newer faster processors out for the the X99 platform after Haswell-E and Broadwell-E or would that be it really, for this platform.
