Haha, nice one. Yeah 5960X out of my price range atm. Saving towards moving to an 8 core next year with Broadwell -E. Hopefully have enough by then for the top chip :D

Well my loop has been running for 18 hours now and no leaks. Time to put the bits back on the case, get the PC together, BIOS update (if applicable) and start to see what my 5960X can do.

I've got mine running at 4.4Ghz 1.3v, 3200Mhz 1.65v 12-15-15-15-1T and 4ghz uncore so far. Max temps under Rog Realbench 74c using a H110. Fairly happy with that as i know games will be a lot lower.

Fairly certain the ceiling on mine is 4.4 Ghz.

Saying that, that's all my 2600k could get without silly voltage, and I'm fairly certain the 5960X running at the same speed will be a fair bit quicker.

Similar to mine then. Since I've started tightening my memory timings I've had to up the vcore a bit more, now just under 1.325v for 4.4ghz. Got my thirds tight though, now to the seconds.

Matt, I'll use this thread for chat progress for my 5960X, I don't want to clog the 8 pack thread up as I'd like to think it will contain good info in the future.

Just realised the supposed 4.4 that I have had crashing is actually on a 45 multi. Idiot.

Trying 4.4 properly now with some XMP settings.

Cool. I'll post my settings and memory timings if i ever get them stable. :)

You moved to x99 Matt, very nice mate. Still on Z87 here which is pretty good for tweaking ddr3 still. Anyway, good luck with the new platform. Might be tempted to head that direction myself soon.:)
