Have you run Winrar Cpu Bench Mark?

Faster the CPU, worse my score

Went down to 285 * 10 and did a bit better

XP 32 score 1927
Vista 32 score 1853

I just ran this quickly and only got 822 kbps.

I'm running an E4300 @ 3.2GHz with the RAM 1:1 at 712MHz 4,4,4,12 T2 on 32-bit Vista. Does that sound about right? Looks a little low?

Is Vista the problem or should I unlink the RAM and run it on say a 4:5 ratio (853MHz)?

That's almost double with the same CPU speed and same RAM timings, T1 rather than T2? Is that on Vista James?

xp 32bit

intel badaxe

winrar 3.61

That's a little more than my C2D @ 3.2GHz! What gives?

What Winrar are you using... The new versions are multithread and the old ones are single.

Basically that result is for one core.

Check Winrar version or check task manager if it uses both cores on the benchmark

WinRAR 3.61, multithread box checked, Task Manager shows both cores used.

822 kbps on:

E4300 @ 3.2GHz on P5N-E with the RAM 1:1 at 712MHz 4,4,4,12 T2 on 32-bit Vista.

Looks like it should be closer to 1300 kbps.

I guess you're having a similar problem to me. It's not a system wide thing, I was encoding MPEG2 last night 4.5 times faster than my 3GHz Northwood and my 3dMark05 is over 10k.

There was a thread on here a while back about a fritz chess benchmark and my computer was getting half the speeds that people on the same rig had at standard speeds and mine was overclocked :(

the ram is that geil stuff that people have problems with, it runs at -3 volts less than recommended,. but if you turn the voltage up to what it recommends the system locks up and will only reset with removal of the cmos battery which is under the graphics card.......shorting it with a screwdriver does NOTHING.

So I said, pause it and give me a score.
