Newer Gigabyte radeons are voltage locked the older aren't.

Where are you guys getting this info and what do you mean by 'newer'. I bought my card less than two weeks ago, it is the same model no. as currently on sale on Ocuk and it is NOT voltage locked. :confused:

I've been trying to get this point across for some time now...but has fallen on deaf ears.

Its possible and probable that these 'locked' cards, appeared volt-locked due to a bug in afterburner looking for lightning VRM's.

Have a go and see what the temps will be like, remember that IC diamond is for CPUs not GPUs so the temps might not go down by far. IMO it should drop by few C

Doesnt matter, I'm thinking of changing the title because theres lots of info about different things not just the MSI 7950

Will do! Just hope I can get away from work to take the delivery!! Might have to drive to the depo otherwise.

Daft question, but the offer on here states it comes with vouchers for those 6 games, i take it you have to download all of the games then, or do you order the games with the vouchers ?
And if the latter is true, do you need to have the actual cd/dvd in your cd/dvd/blueray player to play the game ?

They're all digital download from either Steam/Origin/Ubisoft

Its just a download but the downloads are linked to your account so you just download it again when you need to.

so you asked for a update IC3 so here it is card arrived today:

6850 compared to 7950:

also got a bit fenix cover drive plate

havent had any time to test the card at all only put the 12.11 drivers and caps on and taken some photos but so far it seems quite and running at 26c currently brosing through hw monitor and 26c on cpuz running standard clocks and a asic of 59.9%.

just got back from a friends wedding so a bit drunk so only managed to get these pics and data so far so will game and possibly try some oc's tomoorow.
