Hayfever - Thread

Being nasally raped by trees for 2 weeks now with disgusting consequences.
A highlight so far has been sneezing while driving on the M25, headbutting the steering wheel and the delightful mess of my nose ejaculating all over the place for good measure.

Go away hayfever, you suck!

Suffering hugely this year to a point where I'm avoiding seeing friends, leaving the house etc as it just becomes too unbearable. My dustbin looks like I've been fapping for a month straight with the amount of tissues in there!

This made me chuckle! :D

Today seems to be particularly bad for me, I'm not sure if it's as a by product of the crazy storm last night or what, but my eyes are feeling horrendous. :(

i've started using piriton (chlorphenamine maleate) as of friday, and ive had zero symptoms since starting using it.

if anyone who finds that the usual cetirizine hydrochloride or loratadine dont work, try some piriton.

I was seriously thinking the air purifier idea would be a massive waste of my money, but was willing to try anything to stop me waking up groggy and clogged up every single morning (I run most mornings so it's not a good way to start for that!).

Since early May, I have had to blow my nose immediately after sitting up in bed, it's that bad. And I have felt groogy and rough every morning as well as this without fail.... 2 nights now with this - http://www.breathingspace.co.uk/air-purifiers-c1/airfree-p40-silent-room-air-purifier-p5 - and both mornings I have sat upright at alarm with a completely clear nose and I feel perfectly fine and no dodgy back of throat/groggy feeling. I am actually shocked at the immediate difference its made and wondering why I never gave this a shot years ago.

No placebo or OTT reaction of thinking it is working, because it's quite bloody apparent that it is by the fact I can breathe again haha. £129 spent which at the time I could have kicked myself for, but now thinking £129 was some of the best money I have ever spent.

Now, I just need to fashion some strapping to carry it around on my back all summer and a way to portably power it and I am all set as a portable pollen kiling god!

I suffer from severe to extreme hayfever, used to take all 3 things daily (nasal spray, tablets and eye drops) worked sometimes, but most of the time did little to help.

Then I found a little gadget called the Medisana Medinose Plus, cost me about 80 quid at the time, best 80 quid I ever spent, 5 minutes of use and my symptoms are gone for a good 5-6 hours. Use it 2-3 times a day and hay fever clear all day, the only time I struggle is during very high pollen count days.

I have it sooooo bad today. I've sneezed about 50 times already. My nose is raw, my eyes are sore from itchyness and the irritation in my throat is horrendous.

Tried everything under the sun from tablets, nasal sprays, eye drops etc but nothing works. Even that 'new effective allergy relief' Prevalin is useless.

Maybe I need to invest in one of those devices.

they do work to some degree, are yuo talknig about the one you shove up your nose until it beeps?

OK, now my bedroom is a pollen free heaven each night, I now have the problem that anywhere other than my bedroom results in near death.

Symptoms are shocking the past few days. Weather said pollen count is very high. Shoot me please, I can't stand this crap!

I've found tablets do very little to help me (tree pollen sufferer mainly) but beconase nasal spray really seems to sort it. Couple of sprays in the morning and a couple before bed...still take tablets in conjunction but I'd place 75% of the improvement on the spray

I used Prevalin the last few weeks and that hasn't done a thing really. Yesterday was soooo bad so I went and got Beconase and since then it's been good. I also got the Piriteze (Piriton) syrup. I take that before bed and it proper zonks me out which is ideal. Shame I was 45 mins late for work this morning because I slept through my alarm.

Tablets I agree are a bit useless I think but they must take the edge off. It's always mainly my nose that is the issue so spray is most helpful but it does rape the nasal passages and they are always sooo sore for months after.

Not been as bad with sneezing and itchy eyes this year, but breathing through my nose has become impossible without the otravine allergy nasal spray - wonderful stuff.
