Hayfever - Thread

I suffered with bad hayfever for years but then the last 3 yrs has not been too bad Untill this year which had brought it back with a vengeance
I can't breath of a night I get breathlessness and a weezy chest could that be seasonal asthma? When I asked my doctor he said no and just gave me tablets and a spray same as always but how am I meant to sleep if I am gasping for breath
And every morning the whole of my eyeballs are practically red and takes hours to go white again after I have used eye drops or an eye bath.
It's funny when I'm out or in work everyone seems to be normal how the hell can I be like this yet most people around me are not affected by the pollen at all despite the fact it's really bad this year

Last 2 weeks for me has sucked, been on the sainsburys own hay fever tablets which I've had to take everyday to take the edge off. On the train its the worst. It was even nastier when I had to take those old thameslinks.

It's annoying I can't use nasal spray, it gives me nose bleeds, thing my capillaries are close to the surface. Got a nose bleed from being to hot in Malaga last month as well, wet suit and 37c, that was horrible.

Mine hasn't been too bad this year so far. Only a bit of a stuff nose somedays and that's it. We'll see next week when the temperatures are supposed to hit 25c+ how i'll fare though.

Woke up this morning unable to breath or see.

Yay summers here!

Similar here:

- mouth dry as a bone (can't breathe through nose)
- wheezing
- just sore eyes
- blocked nose

Loratadine and Cetirizine Hydrochloride don't seem to do anything so I might have to lube up, bend over and stomp up the cash for Benadryl.

The usual Loratadine and Cetirizine haven't been working for me recently, changed to Chlorphenamine Maleate and they're much more effective for me this year, albeit they're not a once-a-day tablet, I find I don't tend to need more than 2 a day, certainly nowhere near the max of 6 per day.

The other thing I got is Sterimar spray, which is essentially just a water spray but works well at cleaning out my nose when it's really irritated by pollen, stops the constant tickly itch.

I tried Acrivastine and found it was no better than Cetirizine.

As I mentioned earlier in the thread. People who are finding that neither loratadine or cetirizine work anymore.. Try piriton (not piriteze) piriton has chloramphenamine maleate in it. And it works much better than anything else I've tried.
