Hayfever - Thread

I thought I was going alright this year, until this week.

Finding Piriteze to be moderately successful in fending it off. Might try and source some local honey and see if that helps or if it's utter rubbish. Worst case scenario I get honey I suppose!

I'm suffering really badly again this year. My nose wont stop running, my eyes are streaming and my sneezing is dire.

Waking up on a morning is bad, my eyes lids are usually stuff together when I wake up due to the eye lashes sticking together when sleeping and the gunk coming out my eyes. I have to get to the bathroom blind and wash my eyes out with warm water just to open them.

I have tried many tablets and sprays nothing seems to work at all.

Does anybody else suffer from heavy snoring during hayfeaver season too? MY wife is about to divorce me I think lol.

Yeah, my snoring normally kicks it up a notch around this time of year as well!

Maybe not the cheapest but you can't fault the service, they text you within minutes going a doctors authorised it, posted same day with DPD, as it's DPD they text you a one hour slot for delivery.

And now to see if it works.

Sooo i see this thread has appeared again. Yup confirming what my face already told me.

The pollen up north must be high the past few days, I get it bad in the summer months but rarely this bad. Me and the mother sitting here with red eyes tears streaming down our face.

Anybody had the injections and do they work? I cant deal with it any longer, hayfever affects me all year long, I never have a clear nose and my eyes are very easy to set off itching. :(

I'm suffering, but not as much as I used to.

Please try one thing; local honey!

I swear this is what almost cured me. I got sick of the stuff so stopped eating it a couple of years ago. I ate on it on toast every day for about 6 months, works excellent!

I love honey now even t though about a year ago I hated the stuff. I also think it helps against hayfever

I hate hayfever, barely slept last night as my nose was like a tap, dehydrated through the nostrils haha! Tonight it's not as bad at the moment but it's not great, puffy sore eyes and sore nose too. Never heard the honey trick so I will try that.

Has anyone ever has the injection and if so does it help? (Haven't had a chance to read back far in the thread sorry)..

I once had an injection (can't remember the name of it now). I almost had to beg the doctor to give it to me, and had to prove I had researched it. (Causes a lot of side effects).

It worked wonders for about 4 weeks, but after I was even worse. Not sure if the injection 'ran out' or I came immune, I don't know.

The doctor said they didn't like giving it, and hinted it was going to be banned. This was about 8-10 years ago at a guess.

I try to avoid high histamine foods, beer and red wine being the absolute worst offenders. Summer becomes gin and cider time (not mixed btw).
I try to shower before going to bed and change out of any clothes I've worn a lot outside.
I tend to wear a FP3 mask and gogggles to mow or strim, luckily garden is not overlooked so no one can see me looking like a plonker.

I used to love the summer but since I started sufferig hayfever at the age of 24 I can't wait for it to be over. A good spring or autumn day is my ideal now. Hopefully by then end of July the symptoms will fade.

I'm on Fexofenadine atm and its doing nothing. I was in Cambridge yesterday and it is the worst I have ever been hayfever wise in my life. I was so happy when it started raining I looked like a complete mental case standing outside in it.
