Hayfever - Thread

Damn, looks like it's not working for me then, are you on one a day?

I take mine at 7am and the sneezing is back by 5

That was the issue I had with Fexo. It works, but not for long enough.

Been a really bad few days for me with the heat. The fact all the sniffing causes me to cough a lot is annoying too.

I've actually found the most effective weapon I have is to keep sucking on Halls extra strong menthol sweets as they do a half decent job of keeping my nose clear.

As before, I'll post this up again. I don't know if anyone has ever tried one themselves because there aren't any replies to my older posts, but using one of these paired with over the counter Cetirizine Hydrochloride sorts my hayfever out perfectly. If my nose starts to feel like I'm getting affected by pollen, using the reliever really sorts it out.

I also find that washing my face, or having a shower after work helps as well because it washes any pollen out of your hair and off of your face.

^^ I used to use one of those

A) You look ridiculous
B) It only worked for me on low pollen days, anything more and it wouldn't even work.

Good at Christmas though when you want to do your best Rudolph

If it's a very bad day, I found using that, medication and a nose spray worked well. And you can just go into the toilet to use it rather than in public! Nobody needs to see you!

I feel sorry for mega sufferers! I get itchy eyes and an itchy / sneeze nose, but not enough to stop me going out and about happily, or to warrant taking anything.

My missus on the other hand, gets quite poorly with it if she forgets to take anything.

Oh my god, the past day or so, my eyes!!! I have a prescribed nasal spray that usually sorts it all out but it has only fixed my runny nose/sneezing this year. Wasted too much on eye drops/actimist. The eye drops do work ok sometimes, they are the Optrex itchy eye ones, but the 'Actimist for itchy eyes' is useless!! And it cost me £13 :(

Been doing some research and Opticrom Hayfever eye drops are supposed to be the best as they have an ingredient called Sodium Cromoglicate. Fingers crossed.

Stay strong fellow sufferers hehe

This year is gonna be a bad one I think for Hayfever suffers :( - around here the hedges, undergrowth, etc. are at the most dense and most developed I've ever seen.

Opticrom thats the one a doctor chap I work for said to get that one.

Eyes are killing me at the moment its like someone shook a pepper pot into them. Its so dry thats the problem we need some rain and some relief to wash it out of the air.

Sneezing constant this morning, liquid Piriton or Benadryl does me fine every few hours, speaking of which, better take some more, I usually do a day on one then a day on the other, both seem OK for me

I'm suffering much worse than i did last year, Yesterday was terrible, eyes were itchy and streaming all day until i double dosed on eye drops, i can only take Cetirizine based tablets and feel like i'm getting used to them, Loratadine doesn't do anything and Acrivastine knocks me for six even though it's not meant to for most people, the doctor doesn't seem to want to prescribe anything else.

The worst bit for me though, is the itchyness in the back of the roof of your mouth, i could literally get a fork and stab myself there.

This season is the worst I have had it for years. Been on loratadine for weeks but not helping at all. Then got Prevalin nasal spray, omg it kills me, makes me sneeze about 10 times and then my throat is ruined. When i sleep at night in my sleep i scrape my throat with my tongue and it makes me feel so rough.

Liquid Piriton is what I am on now and it helps me, specually at night cos it is drowsy one.

Been suffering from hayfever for the past 10 or so years but I've only recently bothered to get some medication for it and I'm honestly quite angry with myself that I waited this long. The change has been amazing, no more sneezing fits in fact I've only sneezed about 3 or so times in the past month.

hayfever strong today

godammnit this hayfever never had for 22 years then it decided to turn up!:(

feeling it today

anyone else struggling?

No hayfever since summer went away. Luckily my symptoms were minor during the brief sunny period last week.

Think this might be one of my best pollen seasons ever, would trade it for some nice weather though lol.
