Hayfever - Thread

My eyes have been really really itchy this past week and I don't tend to get itchy eyes!

Drops kinda help but doesn't really sort it out.

I'm taking my tablets and my nasal spray but still getting symptoms :(

Bit of an old remedy but Nettle Tea with a spoonful of Honey really takes the edge off my Hayfever

As I've got older my hayfever has slowly calmed down. Over the last few years it rarely bothers me at all to the point where I don't have any drugs in the house for it :D

THis week hasn't been too bad but last week I was suffering badly in the mornings and evenings. On telfast again this year from Llyods online doctor and buying 2 months supply at a time which is a little cheaper

So I have had pretty good success with the Opticrom Sodium Cromoglicate eye drops, haven't had so much as a twinge the past few days. Supposed to be at a high level in my area too (south of london).

Recommend trying it guys if your eyes are itchy and nothing else is working :)

Wow my hayfever has come out with a vengeance over the last week and especially today. I literally cannot breath and I'm blowing my nose every few minutes. it's really late this year I normally suffer well earlier than this. Was hoping it wasn't going to affect me this year but obviously it has . :(
Is the prescription stuff better than the piriton tabs and spray?

stopped taking fexofanadine earlier this week after two days feeling like i was on a massive sleeping pill bender at work.

not had any hayfever symptomps since then either so may just nock it on the head and see how it goes.

Haven't had any this year as Cyprus seemed not to have a high pollen count at all, one week back in the UK and I'm a dribbling mess with zero lung capacity and wheezing, its horrible :(

Been bad week for eyes it seems all round

Nose not to bad with the fexofenadine .. eyes not to so lucky

Luckily I had an unopened box of Lodoxamide eye drops in the cupboard (or my very own home pharmacy wife calls it)

Also Olopatadine in there if gets really bad :p

my hayfever was shocking a month or so back

was really getting me down, was affecting my running etc - tried a variety of different histamines over a number of weeks - felt zombified (even though meant to be non drowsy) - and only took "the edge off"

switched to Pirinase - and my symptoms have almost completely gone - apart from very occasional itchy eyes

not sure if a coincidince or not - but I think for me nasal sprays seem to be much more effective than tablets

Have been taking fexofenadine (180mg) in the morning, then 8 hours later acrivastine and another acrivastine just before bed.

Seems to be working so far this year.

Fortunately I just take waitrose essentials hayfever tablets, seems to do the job for me.

It's been surprisingly bad this year, I guess all the wet weather has encouraged more plant growth.

Last two days can't stop sneezing, itchy nose etc. Even for me this is stupidly early, we are into the start of tree pollen yew, hazel and alder but it should be mid Feb before its at full swing. Has been a very mild winter though, or its something else.

Trees start early.

Nothing abnormal for it starting this early, it can last pretty much all year depending what your allergic to.

Think it's started again. My eyes have been really itchy since yesterday and i keep sneezing!

The first trees of the year always get me then i'll be fine again by April!
