Hayfever - Thread

Had a really bad week back in March, was going crazy. Went to see a GP he prescribed me some nasal spray and gave me some good advise (still taking 1 a day of them cheap tablets I buy online - Loratadine), since then I have not had a single bad day. Very happy so far, I really hope this is going to sort my pollen allergies for good.

if anyone wants a bargain again. Still cheap onAmazonn
https://smile.amazon.co.uk/Allacan-...e=UTF8&qid=1521631177&sr=8-1&keywords=allacan

and despite the delivery time it states it arrived next day for me.

really need to research and buy a good air filter for the home. So at least get relief when indoors.

annoyingly nasal sprays work really well for me, but cant use them as they give me nosebleeds.

I was sure I looked at this link yesterday and it said like £4. Now it's £5.45! damn you Amazon!

i still have a 10 month stash of ceterizene i picked up last year with a late 2019 expiry, i took one and my nose cleared up but i feel so spaced out and my eyes itch like crazy today lol

runny nose just started out of nowhere yesterday around 5:30pm

Its back !

And it had to happen on the day we hit 29c in UK.

Current regime : Allacan (generic cetrizine) and Beconase (beclometasone dipropionate) and paracetamol tablets.

I have noticed despite going vegan for 6 months, it does not effect my hayfever but certain foods I found were triggering my reactions much worse.
Tomatoes, oranges, fish oil, seed and nuts, advocados, berries pretty much any food with high vitamin c or power health foods, reducing them or stopping them has helped with my hayfever sneezing attacks. Not sure exactly what is in them but it boost my symptoms far worse.

So diet does play a role in hayfever but maybe not the full cure but certainly limiting trigger foods will help.

I think Fexofenadine was overpriced and didn't work as well, am going to wait for a bit longer and if I find Cetrizines not working ill try switching to
Acrivastine tablets (boots got 2 packs for 6 quid special offer again for 24 tabs) I usually get 4 packs which last 3-4 weeks, their still the most pricey
tabs going but they do work I think maybe only twice they stopped working for me and I had to swap back to cetrizines. I also add paracetamol into my mix
it really does help reduce inflammation in my nostrils, nose and head and reduce running nose and congestion.

Hopefully Acrivastine and my Beconase spray will make me survive this summer !

It's definitely picking up now. I gave up ale and red wine about a month ago and won't really partake until hayfever season is over again. I find drinking cider significantly reduces my symptoms the next day if I have a drink the night before.

Surprised there hasn’t been more posts in this thread with the pollen count being really high this year and today being one of the worst supposedly. I’ve never been this bad so early on in the year it normally only affects me in June/July but I’ve been having symptoms since end of April this year. Today was really bad blowing my nose every 2 mins, itchy eyes and even felt like it was affecting my chest and breathing.

O trust me I've been ****** from heyfever this year My eyes are itchy and red now almost permanently

Today has been awful. Two tablets as well as nose spray, and by the end of my 25 minute train journey, I had a little ball of mush that was once some toilet roll I had with me in case my nose started to run. :D

Oh it’s not just me then :D I’ve kept mine under control for the last few years following all the advice etc but this years just been horrendous. Yeh the eyes are the worst especially when your going out or to work and they are bright red. I find being in work with no windows and air con on the only bit of respite I get. As soon as I’m traveling home or outside it’s starts again

I know the feeling my nose is bright red like when you’ve got a cold from all the blowing. Whenever I’m in public and look around everyone else always seems unaffected by it going about there daily business. :(

Do you find yourself secretly hating them for being able to enjoy summer without being affected by it?
