Hazro - Any Update?

Just got an email from my contact at Hazro, and they've now shipped my silver model, so hopefully (since it doesn't come from City Link direct from them) I'll get it before you lot ordering new ones!

Anybody able to pass an opinion on the 26" and 30" Hazro compared to the old Dell 2407 A03? I only ask because although it's long been superseded it's arguably the benchmark for affordable "big screen" monitors for input lag, ghosting etc.

I know I said I would leave this thread, but I am *very* annoyed right now... so here's what's happened since my last post.

A couple of days after my last post, I arrived home and the monitor wouldn't turn on. At all. Nothing. The "improved" power adapter had died. I'd already decided I wanted a refund at this point purely because of the gloss, but this really did tip it over the edge for me. I was in such disbelief that the power adapter had died within, what, a week, I actually laughed.

So, on to OCUK. The first web note they didn't read properly, and missed the part where I asked for a refund. They told me to contact Hazro and they would replace it directly. So, I sent another saying I've done this, but would like a refund. This was from a Mr Warren Dooley:

Dear Mark Cullen,

Thank you for your webnote, i can arrange to have this collected anytime for you

Regards,

Warren Dooley

Great! I was happy, and replied specifying a preferred date for collection. So what happens tonight? I get this:

Dear Mark Cullen,

Unfortuantely you are not entitled to a refund I am afraid. You are only entitled toa repair or
a replacement.

Regards,

Phil Meredith

Now, I figure this is because it's been past 28 days but have asked why, and stated Mr Dooley has, as far as I understand, said the opposite. If it is because it's past 28 days, well, I feel quite cheated to be honest. I was happy with the initial non glossy panel, and obviously HAD to wait for this revised model to be rolled out by Hazro. So I waited, long past 28 days, and was struck with the glossy panel. I tried to like this, but couldn't, as you know. Had it had a glossy panel in the first place I either wouldn't have bought it flat out, or tried it and it *would* have been back within a week, without doubt. Of course, to top it all off this particular monitor is faulty too.

I personally feel I should be entitled to a refund in this particular situation. It's in no way my fault Hazro took a couple of months to release the revised monitor, and decided to give it a glossy panel. Your thoughts? How should I proceed with this one?

Most companies out there give it all that and a normal 28 day policy for returns/exchanges.

But if the product is a misrepresented Sale, they usualy have no choice but to exchange it or refund it.

Its not what you ordered in the 1st place anyhow, but I think its up to you to mention that too them.

Worth a try regardless cos Ocuk support is generaly good and on top of things :)

Hi Highlander,

This is what I thought. It's no longer what was advertised when I originally bought it, and I have heard OCUK support is generally good, and would understand this situation without any problems.

I had mentioned the whole glossy panel ordeal in the original webnote, but it seems like perhaps that didn't get read properly. I'll possibly have to mention this again to Phil...

There's no way I am having a £450 boat anchor sitting here in my room! If it were £25 or something I wouldn't be that fussed, but £450.... bit ridiculous!

Cheers,
