Hazro - Any Update?

Yep from Hazro confirmed twice, they DID however attempt to pick it up on Friday and Monday when

A) They were not supposed to
B) Monitor was not packed up anyway

So I contacted Hazro who confirmed it's the 1st and to ignore any other collection attempts before then.

viennesse - Yes - I requested that they fix any outstanding problems across the range so I wouldn't have to send it back again.

The snow is a problem with DVI frequencies apparently. I figure if it does show up when I change my gfx card in say 2 years time I'll get a fix then.

Whatever the case is other monitors have other issues like crap support or crap build quality/design or rubbish text quality/colour quality or backlight uniformity.

The Hazro has 2 issues, which which is now fixed and another which is being fixed with a fix rollout to users. I've had much worse in the tens of TFT screens I've had.

So basically i've returned my monitor yesterday when it's known that the issue can't & wont be fixed!

Has there been any mention if replacement screens are being sent back which have been tested as not having the green snow? i.e. could we now get different screens back.

Just to confirm that I received a phone-call from Hazro today confirming that my screen will be dispatched today but living in Northern Ireland i'll not expect it until Friday.

They also mentioned that the banding is totally gone both horizontally & vertically, the snow effect is dependent on which graphics card you have (ATI seem to be the worst offender) and a pdf will be available outlining how you can get rid of the snow by tweaking some settings - this being the case, the shielding that was talked about, may or may not be applied to your individual unit.

I also enquired about backlight bleed from corners and unless its above a certain tolerance nothing will be done as it is a common issue with IPS technology.

The reduction in brightness has also be reduced, out of the box. They also confirmed that the RGB sliders will have no effect from the OSD and any tweaks should be made from your graphics card control tool.

What? Jez told me that this was a bug in the firmware and the one monitor sent out with this problem was an anomaly. He even said himself that "non-functional RGB sliders in the OSD is unacceptable and must be fixed", you should have told them that's not good enough.

I was talking in terms of calibration with him and he said that because the memory that runs the OSD is so small, the graphics card tool would be better suited to tweaking, however from the general context of the conversation I got the impression that moving the RGB sliders will have no effect directly to the screen!

I guess we'll find out tommorrow for sure as I think that most of the firmware upgraded screens have been dispatched today.
