**HAZRO HZ27WA & HZ27WC ARRIVING SOON INCLUDING NONE-GLASS VERSIONS!**

I would say yes there would be more reflection but it comes down to where you position it. I personally would go for the glass version because I have no light source behind me, others may prefer the model with no glass if they have difficulty in controlling light sources in the room. And yeah the screens above look to be the non glass model.

I think the price in insanely good for the spec you are getting, yeah stand sucks but I would replace that straight away with a fully adjustable one anyway.

so the reflection would be even more than the image that gregeff has posted

(his is the non gloss, right?)

yes mine is the non glass version. There are some other posts from photos of the glass version. I think the reflections look a lot worse with the glass but it's hard to tell without them side by side.

I can't see how the glass will improve blacks or colours? It's just a piece of glass...

It might make it a bit more athtesically pleasing with the glass though.

We need someone to buy both and do a comparsion, pros and cons!

Mine just turned up, absolute bargain for the money paid, cannot fault it. Extremely happy camper.

Agree with what other people have said that the screen appears to tilt forwards slightly, its not a major issue for me, however I will look at the new height adjustable stand when it comes out as I could do with dropping the screen level about an inch.

Picture quality is out of this world, even out of the box, its a fantastic monitor for the price and I'd happily recommend it to anybody.

i've had the glass version and now have the glassless version. The glass, in my opinion, does not add anything that much more (apart from reflection). The glassless one is still fantastic and there is no less vibrancy or clarity.

I MUCH prefer the glassless one.

The other issue and a much bigger issue is the rather loud buzzing noise the monitor makes. TFT central highlighted the issue in their review but i must say the noise is much louder than i expected.

I didn't notice last night, with a TV on and an external hard drive running on the desk, but using it this morning my HZ27WC does strike me as pretty noisy. Definitely the loudest monitor I've owned.

If I fill the screen with an ebook reader then it produces a loud high pitched buzz that drowns out my PC. It's still easily audible 5-6m away at the other end of the room.

In normal use it obviously isn't so bad, and is mostly noticeable when switching between applications or dragging windows around, because of the way the tone and volume changes depending on what's on screen.

I'm considering whether I can live with it or will need to send it back at the moment.

Out of interst I just measured the power draw of the monitor at different settings. The result is below:

HZ27WC-Power.png

The monitor uses different power depending on what is on screen, a completely black screen uses less than a completely white screen. I've used middle grey to give as a normal value.

I found that above 8 there was no differnece to the power draw, I also don't see any visible change in brightness... I have the monitor set at 1 normally.

I'm very happy with this, my old monitor uses 83Watts at a similar setting to this monitor using 53Watts so thats a pretty big drop in power usage :-)

On standby I measure about 7.5Watts vs 8.5Watts for my old monitor.

oh man! ive got one of these on the way... might have to DSR it... 5-6m away sounds pretty bad!! oh, i just found out, under DSR THEY have to refund everything inc. postage (not what you pay to send it back, though)!

I think most people are aware of how the DSR works. I looked into getting returning this monitor should there be an issue; most companies will only insure against loss of a monitor but not damage, and in most cases nothing above 24" either which sucks. I did manage to find a company which would insure the monitor, it wasn't that expensive either, around £15 including insurance up to £400. I think I posted it in either this thread or the other Hazro thread.

EDIT:
Found it, PayPerParcel don't limit you on the size of monitors, as long as they are well packaged (so I imagine in the same packaging as they arrive) you can insure them.

OK had a day to get used to the GLASS on the 27WC, and I've got used to the reflections and it don't bother me...

I was using an LG E2350V & a BenQ EW2420, now I have retired the LG for the Hazro.

The glass front DOES seem to make a difference, my comparison may not be that perfect as the LG is a TN panel (matt) LED back lit, BenQ VA semi gloss with LED back lit. The colours on the gloss glass displays seem to stand-out that much more, only a slight difference to the BenQ but still noticeable. Pictures seem to be that bit more lifelike.. there is that bit less masking effect.

Anyway.. if the mrs lets me, I'll replace the BenQ with a WC non-glass and tell you all for definite. But from comparing to the other panels, the glass one is definitely better to look at (in both meanings)

Are you sure thats the monitor? onboard sound cards seem to pickup noise that changes/triggers with the exact same things - dragging a window around on the desktop especially can produce a whistling or buzzing noise in whatever speakers/headphones your using and sometimes can be produced by the PSU too - try turning the monitor off and see if you can still produce the buzzing.

An interesting comparison to draw. Just to be clear it isn't actually the glass front that makes the difference but the lack of any sort of roughening of the outer polarising layer. In other words the none-glass fronted Hazro should give similar image performance despite lacking the glass, which is purely there for aesthetic reasons. The EW2420 uses a haze value for the polarizer of just over 10% which is a lot lower than the likes of the LG (closer to 30%). It will still make a slight difference to the image when compared to a totally smooth surface.

Make sure that the noise doesn't come from the sound-card and the speakers (I had that supposed problem first, as volume of the built-in speakers was at maximum): turn down volume, or connect with DVI without connecting the audio cable (HDMI includes sound).

I doubt it's audio related. It's sound exactly the same as mine and it is 110% the monitor. There is not even the remotest possibility that it's coming from anything else.

What you described is exactly the same as EMI interference caused by a graphics card (and usually picked up by a sound card). I'm not sure how this relates but it's something to bear in mind rather than just instantly dismiss. Check on the audio section and you'll see just how common it is.

My system doesn't have a sound card. I use HDMI audio out to an AV receiver (which is off).

Bare in mind the noise is loud enough you can pretty much pin point the exact location on the monitors casing where the noise is coming from.

high pitched noises like that are very easy to locate.
