**HAZRO HZ27WA & HZ27WC ARRIVING SOON INCLUDING NONE-GLASS VERSIONS!**

After following this thread with interest I can now say I would never spend this much money on a product/products that has [what seems] and endless amount of issues. I would rather just wait till OCUK get the Samsung S27A950D 27" in stock and buy a monitor I can live with and have some peace of mind.
What really worries me about the Hazro range is just how long they will last before they give up. I have a feeling it won't be more than 3 years. I like to buy with confidence and these monitors don't inspire that after what I have read.

Remember its mostly the people with a problem with their monitors that will be on the forums.. and there are maybe only a handful of them with problems noticeable enough for an RMA.

If you want to pay £600+ for a monitor of this size then go ahead and go for the Dell.. or wait for the Samsung.. but for the price we all paid [£375] i don't think you will get anything near this in terms of bang for your buck! And trust me when i say - there are some unhappy Dell & Samsung customers out there in the world too....

I think that 'endless amount of issues' is a bit strong. I'm one of the lucky ones as my 'C' model has no issues at all except the HDCP non compliance which doesn't affect me personally. I'm very pleased with it indeed. I'm sorry for those who haven't been quite so lucky but I'd say it's worth persevering with because this monitor really is very good value for the money given the obvious alternative of the Dell U2711 at £650-£700. It's 'horses for courses' in the end but if picture quality is high on your list of requirements then the Hazro is well up there.

I purchased the Benq XL2410 120hz when it first came out (I had 2 in fact before giving up) and both at over £300 were a useless pile of junk IMO and both were returned. I'm not the only one, as many had issues with this particular model and I was amazed that my examples could have passed through quality control with horrendous amounts of backlight bleed and poor colour/picture quality. My point is that you can't really single out Hazro for some issues with a particular product as even the big boys are guilty of this. In fact getting a good example from any manufacturer these days, whatever you've paid, seems like a bit of a lottery. Kudos to Hazro also for popping up on the forum now and then to answer queries unlike the majority of the others.

I never dreamed I'd be able to own a 27" monitor with such superb picture quality for what I've paid. I think Hazro have found a 'niche' with this particular monitor and I hope they'll get over the teething problems that are often present with any new product and be around for a very long time.

Defunkt, I wish you luck with the new Samsung. It was on my list until I saw the price! As it is I'm glad I went with the Hazro after nearly cancelling due to the delivery delays.

Cheers. T9

^ mrdoogso...you beat me to it and said what i was trying to say without half as much waffle!

My WA is great, and doesn't have any problems. And most people I have read here are happy with their screens.

If you are happy with a 27" 1080p screen like the Samsung 950, go for it. I am not interested in low resolution amplified on a big screen. 2560x1440 is a great value for me (working with a lot of text documents).

Cheers - Klaus

As i mentioned earlier in this thread, I wasn't too pleased with the backlight bleed on one side. Here is a photo of it next to my DGM 24" VA screen....Overall it is darker than my old screen which is good, however it is really non-uniform on the left. The bright left hand edge is quite noticable in films...

I know photos tend to overemphasize backlight bleeding, but that is ridiculous. It actually looks like the bezel is pinching the screen. Have you tried gently manipulating the bezel/stand etc to see it makes a difference? If not definitely return it either DSR or RMA depending which is best for you.

For the record my WA glassless has no dust issues. Backight is pretty uniform and no obvious bleeding, no significant buzz and I haven't noticed any dead pixels for normal use (although I am intentionally not looking closely). Out of the box calibration is pretty good but the colours are slightly washed out to my eyes and changing colour temp to warm helped. After a bit of tinkering I quite like the following settings:
Brightness 30
Contrast 90
Sharpness 50
Colour Temp User - Red 30 - Green 22 - Blue 30
DCR Off
ECO 50

I write this not to gloat but to illustrate it is possible to get a good one.

Without knowing how many units have been sold it is difficult to know how Hazro manufacturing standards are holding up to other manufacturers but they clearly have a winner if you want a glossy screen and get a good one. Shame Overclockers have pushed the WA version up to £550 though. £399 WC and £499 WA would be great price points IMHO.

Yeh i think i might RMA it. Just watched Inception in 1080p, it looked stunning, except the back light blead on the left was quite distracting in all the dark scenes :(

I've tried manipulating the bezel a bit but no luck, I don't want to try too hard in case i brake anything and then can't RMA!

Definitely RMA that Gregeff, that's definitely faulty!

People with the noise issue should probably RMA it as well if it's definitely the screen and not coming from the speakers - mine doesn't make a slightest bit of noise.

your not even comparing similar products

the hazro is a high res monster

and this samsung is low res, especially for the size

your also not taking in to account how many happy people there are with this screen

Hazro. Any chance of some help. I accidentley hit memory recall when I was tweaking the settings and now I can't see anything. Comes up no sync and goes into standby before I can get back into the OSD.

After an initially great review the backlight bleed on mine is quite pronounced, will upload a picture this evening to get your input.

Im in two minds about it.

Ch 4: Warranty

[bit on back light bleeding]
Hazro will ONLY consider warranty claims should the tolerable levels be exceeded.

Backlight 'bleed' or 'Non-Uniformity' will only be considered for Warranty if >32% of LED Panel Coverage.

It it because the the memory recall changes language to Korean and sets input to VGA, both of which have to be manually corrected. Possibly completely powering off the PC and monitor will allow the monitor to resync. Or with the WA to get it back to DVI what you have to do is press the button directly below the on off button and you should get the input OSD top left. To get it to DVI press the same button until DVI is selected and press the bottom button (from memory) to get it to stick and wait a few secs for the display to come up. Then go into the OSD and change the language back to English.

If you have the WC without the OSD post back and I'll tell you exact button presses (based on the WA) when I get home later.

Of the recent batch, we've all had them since Friday, so the next couple of days are make or break time for those thinking about returning theirs under Distance Selling Regulations as Surveyor rightly suggested.

Will upload a picture of my backlight bleed later to get your opinions.

Think I made the right decision with not being an early adopter, will the company exist in 3 years? How many people are going to complain in here? And will the 850 Samsung be better?
I personally would find it very hard to return a monitor.

Stand plus screen is 450, bit too much money for me to gamble with, that's why I guess I didn't pre order

I've managed to set it back to English but I can't get DVI Setting to stick after selecting it. I can only see a picture under the computer setting and that is just the desktop with nothing on it. No mose pointer icons anything :(

It didn't like having VGA and DVI plugged in same time it was showing it as extended setup. All works fine with VGA now but DVI or HDMI will not stick on the input setting no matter what button I press after selecting them so it just says no sync.
