**HAZRO HZ27WA & HZ27WC ARRIVING SOON INCLUDING NONE-GLASS VERSIONS!**

More to the point is there ever going to be an update to allow us ATi 5XXX series users to see BIOS? Monitor is useless if it doesn't show screens and I'm stuck trying to test components with a crappy 15" monitor because my lovely 27" won't work

Not all AMD5XXX have problems, my 5850 CFx has no problems showing BIOS, and I'm sure someone here with a 5870 can see BIOS too..

Hmm, out of interest do you have the WC or the WA, and is your 5850 a reference card? From what I can tell the issue only affects the WC and Hazro's tests showed it affected 5750, 5770, 5850 and 5870 cards only, not the whole range.

Ah, mine was one of the original reference versions using the original BIOS, I guess based on the fact the 56XX cards work that a later BIOS is required. Any idea how to flash one of these to the card?

I recieved my HZ27WC (non glass) yesterday after ordering it Wednesday afternoon. Great service.

I've only used it for browsing and a bit of gaming on Crysis so far and tbh, that's mostly what it will be used for anyway.

I'm coming from a 24" Dell (1920x1200) that I've had for many years.

+ points:

No dead pixels.

Very vibrant image. A lot punchier than my old Dell. Contrast and black level seemed much improved as often in dark scenes in games on the Dell, images could look washed out. Internet browsing was also improved as the images just seemed clearer with better colour reproduction.

More immersive experience during gaming.

Points that some may find an issue:

Build quality has clearly been compromised but only really in comparison to my Dell. It does the job but it feels and looks cheaper.

No off button? There is one below the light but it appears to be just cosmetic. When I switched the computer off the blue light flashes so there appears to be no standby mode.

- points:

I'm not sure if this is the viewing angle or light bleed but when sat centrally, the bottom side areas look lighter and not black. If you move to look directly at these area's it goes away a bit so I guess it could be a combination of both. This kind of thing doesn't bother me too much but it was a bit distracting if the screen was black. Will do a test tonight for any light bleeding through.

The biggest issue I have is that there appears to be no way of adjusting the backlight. I just wonder if this is what is washing out the screen on the sides or causing excessive light bleed.

Overall for what I'm using it for I think its a keeper. My experience with Crysis was improved over my Dell and that is what I was looking for from it. My single 580gtx dealt with Crysis Warhead at 2560x1440 no problem although it was only vanilla with all of the settings a level below enthusiast. I will try enthusiast tonight to see what effect it has and I'm hoping that it may give me an excuse to get a second 580 anyway.

A big thumbs up.

The backlight can be adjusted by the buttons under the power button. I missed them too at first don't worry :p

I came from a TN screen, although I think it was a rare breed of 8bit because the colour straight on isn't really any better or worse on either panel and I couldn't see any sign of dithering, the viewing angles though are incredible and I don't regret my purchase.

Thanks again. Will play with those tonight.

From your description is just sounds like IPS glow to me. I get exactly the same thing on mine and mine has no backlight bleed at all. It's one of the downsides of an IPS screen.

This.

It's normal, looks a little yellow-ish on mine and is slightly more noticeable in the bottom left corner. May be annoying in the dark.

**Quick update for those considering purchasing this monitor**

Bought the glassed version. As great as it is, after using it for 3 weeks i can say the excessive reflection when my light is on, or when there is plenty of daylight present in the room, is distracting to the point that i am regretting my purchase.

In hindsight i would definitely consider the non-glass version.

Just a user-related opinion - please don't be offended in any way [glassed version owners] :(

cheers
