**HAZRO HZ27WA & HZ27WC ARRIVING SOON INCLUDING NONE-GLASS VERSIONS!**

I've contacted ATI about the lack of video on some of their cards (it appears to be just reference 58XX/57XX cards) and will let you know what I'm told. Hazro clearly aren't bothered by the issue though

Can anybody here with a 58XX that's been flashed to an unlocked/modded BIOS on a reference card confirm if this will fix the BIOS display issues?

This is not the case - we've been in contact with AMD/ATI on numerous occasions about their 5000 range cards and we know of other vendors having similar issues. There is nothing our engineers can do about this as its solely a problem with a few cards in the 5000 family. They've agreed to a f/w fix and have indicated that the 6000 family of cards will be 100% compatible.

I guess you can't say fairer than that. Hazro so if I understand you other monitor vendors are having display issues with the 5XXX series cards too? If so that makes me feel better that there might be a fix. Otherwise I'll have to use the spare monitor workaround until the 7XXX cards are released...

wc 27 non glass arrived this morning

absolutely stunning.
played wings of prey and it looked amazing, then tried FSX and it blew me away it looked that good, almost like someone had installed orbix or Rex.cant see any dead pixels, cant hear any noise when viewing a whitebackground,

i was a bit worried after reading some of the posts in this thread but its the best £400 ive spent in a long time.you have to consider i was using a 40" sony Tv so i knew it was going to look sharp but I didnt it expect it to look this good.i have a dell ultra 23" which was very nice too, what put me off was the coating made whites look dirty so my son has it nowI love this screen, thanks for the positive posters that convinced me to buy one.

ok one problem? i have noticed when i power off my pc and the monitor is still powered the blue light flashes and i cant switch off the monitor with the switch,

From off the monitor power light comes on steady for a few secs and the screen seems to want to come on then it goes off and the blue light flases till i boot up the pc and then its steady.
any ideas?
thanks

when you're facing the screen reach over on the right hand side. Behind the screen are buttons, the top round one is power off and the ones below change the brightness etc. When powered off the light goes red and stays like that until you power it on again.

The switch I think you are referring to is just a blanking plate on the front?

re the led + and - buttons is it just a case of trying them to adjust the brightness,i read there are 11 presses of adjustment, dont really want to alter mine right now cus it looks great but for future ref what do you do?
thanks

The backlight can be adjusted by the buttons under the power button. I missed them too at first don't worry :p

Where is the backlight option? I only see brightness, contrast etc.

I have a glass version too and the reflections have also made me regrett my purchase. I should have waited for the non glass version.

Just press the buttons and see how the brightness changes, all I did :)

Not sure on the backlight but don't worry about the glass version too much as the none glass is glossy so somewhat reflective but not a big deal, at least not to me...

Thinking about buying myself one of these (WC). Few questions though. How glossy is the no glass version as the sun can get quite glarey on my current Samsung T240 and I wouldn't exactly call it a glossy screen finish. Don't want to be able to see myself in it or have excessive glare on it. Secondly, does Dual Link DVI = DVI-I? And last question, I saw on TFTCentral they have .icc profiles for optimal settings how do I load these into my ati settings?

The none glass one is quite reflective when off, ie a black screen but when using it I haven't noticed it. Mine is 90 degrees and two feet from a SE facing window.

Excellent, only got to play a few videos on mine so far. Not expecting too much of the 5830 but only bought to tide me over until the 7xxx series is out :)

I'll be honest, at 2560x1440 my 5850 is struggling to play a lot of games with my base settings (4xMSAA, 16AF, VSync), so I'll have to upgrade at some point. I guess it's the perfect excuse though for some people ;)

Do you really need 4xAA? Have you tried turning it down to 2x or off completely and seeing if you notice much difference? I found the pixel density so high that I didn't really need any AA.

Hazro, any news on HDCP or Nvidia issues yet?

As it is, if I connect another monitor or TV to my GTX 260, the Hazro ceases to exist as far as Nvidia control panel is concerned. Actually, it never existed anyway, but at least the card sends it video at the appropriate resolution when only the Hazro is connected.

No AA at all? Wow, while the pixel density is a little higher than the 'norm' it's not 4 times higher.

You can get away with 2x in some titles but most games still look best on 4x+. No AA on my Hazro looks awful frankly, though the type of game will always vary the perceived need for AA at any rate.
