Hazro series - HZ30Wi, HZ30WiQ, HZ27WA, HZ27WB & HZ27WC

Starting to get the feeling that its just two blokes building them in someone's shed.
That's exactly the feeling I've always had about Hazro, and so far I've seen absolutely nothing to change my mind. :D

thinking about cancelling my order for the 30", this whole thing between Hazro and OCuK does indeed feel very amateurish.
Indeed - when an OcUK representative is seen asking one of their suppliers "what's going on?" on a public forum, it really does come across as quite shockingly unprofessional.

It's all rather a shame, because the basic concept of a "minimalist" (but high-quality) monitor is very appealing - I guess the original Dell 3007WFP or the HP ZR30W are the closest we've seen from the big names, but still a little overpriced for my tastes.

Surely it makes you wonder about the warranty issues? Also glad I went dell not hazro, been following this thread for a while

The HP ZR30W is a better screen anyway (far less input lag). Granted it's more expensive by about £200 but I'm willing to spend that sort of money on a screen from a well known, well established manufacturer with a decent warranty.

It's just a shame OCuK doesn't stock it :(

It's not that much better and input lag is only 3ms different which you will not even notice.(11ms vs 14ms)

I must admit have been looking at the HZ30Wi but I am a bit wary given the history of the company.

What kind of assurances can you give a potential customer?

Also, do you have any info on the led version of the 27 inch panel, HZ27Wa?
Pictures, when will it be avialable, cost etc?

Thanks

Second post in the thread on the 8th of November.

All questions remains..

Hi folks,

I want to apologize for the lack of updates/posts but here's a quick update on the 30inch and 27inch monitors:

We've been swamped with custom orders and admittedly, have failed some resellers in delivering consumer versions of these monitors on time [mods in the form of scalers, custom cooling, modified enclosures etc. are time consuming]. We have a backlog which will take approx 2 weeks to clear.

We've had numerous emails asking for launch dates/pricing etc. on the 27inch LED [HZ27Wa] and CCFL [HZ27Wb] monitors. As part of our agreement with OCUK, there's only so much we can say about the 27s on this forum:

HZ27Wb [CCFL]: Priced at around £500 inc. VAT [or thereabouts], we will be taking orders in 2 weeks and delivering before the end of the month and 1st week of march. No changes made to the product reviewed by TFTCentral.

HZ27Wa [LED]: Undergone several revisions and aesthetically, is 'very different' from what we originally planned [e.g. plastic enclosure]. Price/review/specs/images will be available before the end of this month [I can say this for definite]. I will also add that the price will make the wait worthwhile. The monitor will be available in 2 suffixes: one ft. DVI only and the other ft. DVI + HDMI + SPDIF + Component + VGA. The panel on both versions will be the same [LED IPS WQHD Glossy].

The HZ30Wi-Q will be available at the same time as the HZ27Wb - price yet to be finalized [but expect to pay just over £800 inc. VAT].

We will keep up with this thread more regularly now so please post any questions you may have. Once again, sincere apologies for the lack of updates.

That is nice - It is always great to have different version/look.

Does it mean LED will be cheaper than CCFL?

Sweet! No Displayport! DVI - fantastic news Mr Hazro!
That means we won't have problems with pluggin them to nvidia cards!

Yes, initially upon launch, the LED will be cheaper but the prices will then balance out.

That is also a great news - launch price discounts!

About that LED version - can you tell what kind of cosmetic changes it got? Will it be thinner? Different stand? All metal now?

Also - I remember you mentioned in December that dead pixel policy will change after New Years - for better. Are new 27" coming with new dead pixel policy?

We appreciate the interest. For specific questions on the 27" monitors, please email them in via the contact form on our site. We're happy to answer questions on the HZ30Wi and HZ30Wi-Q here.

Hi will 2 5870s 1GB be enough to run games on a HZ30Wi or will there be problems.

Just saw another post where someone used one 5870 and had a hard time with a Dell 27.

Thanks in Advance.

Devestating news, i was relying on this monitor having Displayport. I understand you were having problems getting displayport to work across different vendors' products, but to drop it completely seems a huge mistake at the pricepoint you are going for. Do you at least know if it will work using a 15m displayport cable equipped with a DisplayPort to DVI Video Converter plug (such as the Startech one)?

I think it's a right choice, DP are used in Macs, this is PC monitor, why would anyone need a DP, when all graphic cards for PC have DVI.

Why Displayport

..in reply to your question 'Why Displayport', basically the standard supercededs DVI. It's more efficient, cheaper for users (in terms of cables), cheaper for manufactureres (royalty-free), & carries more data / higher screen resolutions. It's certainly not just Macs, most new graphics cards now have displaypport or mini-displayport.

For me specifically, i am installing a monitor in the loft; i've already cabled in a 15m displayport cable, which only required an 18mm hole drilled in the wall & ceiling to run the cable. A DVI cable would require at least a 26mm hole.
