US: HBO - Silicon Valley

Might have to start watching this again if, as it sounds by this thread, it gets better. I think I only watched the first 3 episodes before forgetting about it.

I enjoyed this show i am concerned how season 2 will go as the man who played peter Gregory (the billionaire burger king eater) died before season 1 even aired and i found him one of the most interesting people in the show and with him being their main backer will be interesting to see how they work around it |:

How strange - He was the only character I couldn't actually stand. I thought his acting was far too over the top and forced - I don't think I enjoyed a scene with him in. I wasn't aware of the fact he passed away, which is a shame - but as you mentioned, it will be interesting to see how they work around this.

Just banged out the first season and thought it was pretty great. Started very meh but ended up a lot better. Predictable but subtle and funny.

Shame that Peter Gregory's character will be no more, I thought his awkward autistic genius demeanor was brilliant. Sesame seeds.

Are you serious? He was amazing. That's the absolute point of his character. The actor was a total genius in that respect.

Oh no I know that was the point of his character - Just for me, it didn't provide a synergy with the other characters portrayals is all. I just found it a little too over the top for my liking.

Yeah I agree, great show. But it indeed did start of very slow. Give it a few episodes and it grows on you :)

Yeah after watching the first episode especially I was a bit worried - the staff behind it have come with big reputations and obviously being on HBO you expect great quality out of the gate.

However it got better and although it did have a few obvious 'geek!' gags here and there, the characters did start forming up and transcending this towards the end.

Interesting to see where it goes from here then.

Really enjoyed this and can't wait for S3, I just hope the story doesn't go the way I think it will with Richard working for his idiot friend.

I have seen all of this, and on the whole it's not bad, but I get the impression this would be better as a drama with a little comedy thrown in, rather than a comedy with a little drama thrown in.

Yeah, I recently binged though both seasons, cannot wait for season 3.

Erlich Bachman is awesome!
