Thanks to my little brother the Punto is now stuck in a field up kirsktone pass having been on its roof.

Annoying because we has a bonnet ready to go on it from his last accident. Just like how we had a front wing for the Uno to repair some damage he did when he parked that sideways in a wall.

Better still, he was out razzing with his mates when he was specifically told not to, similar to when he totalled the Uno.

If you include bending a wheel over a kerb, he's now had 5 accidents (2 write-offs, 2 involving other cars), all his fault, in 2 years driving. What does it take to get some people to slow down?

So my casual search for a car for myself has now become more necessary (short-list is currently; Post 1998 1.2 16V Bravo 80SX, and Post 1997 146 1.6TS, both can be bought and insured by me within my £2k budget).

I'll get some photos if possible, but the only person who might take any is my brother himself.

Sounds like a complete tool tbh.

5 accidents in 2 years, 2 of which are write offs?

Sounds like he needs a beating before he crashes into somebody i know and care about.

EDIT: ok, why haven't your parents relieved him of his car keys?

Is there any particular reason why your shortlist only contains cars that are not very good?

If you want to add to it feel free, just do it without using the words Fiesta and Mondeo.

Well I think the best option here is to cleanse the gene pool...

Can he just not have a car? That seems like a very sensible idea if he's managed to have 5 accidents in 2 years.

I wouldnt be looking for good cars either if that idiot was likely to be driving them :P

I'm guessing thats his main criteria, by the looks of his short list, i doubt he'll be fussy on what car it actually is?

At the time he was on his final warning, ie, he can only have the car to go to college on Wednesdays and, when he asks to borrow the car, and has to say where he's going.

He crashed nowhere near where he was going with 4 of his mates in the car. As with the Uno, he's paying for all costs. And his next car will have to be his own, which will have to be insurance group 1 now.

The Police still may charge him with Dangerous Driving.

What's with the Fiat/Alfa obsession? I can understand that you may desire to own a nice Alfa, but Fiats are crap. We had a 75ELX Punto from new. It was crap.

Why not a Mondeo? They do genuinely seem to be the best cars out there for motoring on a budget if you buy carefully.

As for your brother - I doubt if he just "slowed down" it would make much of a difference. Seems like he doesn't know when to use appropriate speed and/or have the necessary skill to control a car. Hope himself and his friends are ok though.

Sounds like a good idea. He obviously has no idea about how to drive, especially with 4 of his mates in the car. 5 people in a Fiat Punto is NOT pleasant if you're driving like Miss Daisy. And i can't imagine your brother was driving sensibly.

Does he even care if he crashed and killed one/all of his mates? I'm surprised they'd be stupid enough to get in the car with him!

His old man fixes FIATS in his spare time. this automatically makes them the BESTEST THINGS EVOR.

I wouldnt put as much blam on your brother to be honest, I mean its not the first or even second time hes done this yet he is repeatedly given access to someones car .

Why even bother putting your brother on the insurance is what I don't understand

Remember if he's driving like a suicide job then he's not only endangering his and his friends lives but also some innocent who probably doesn't want to get maimed or die just yet.
