He did it again!

Oh yea, he's not allowed passengers any more, it's always 4 mates, and they egg him on.

Oh, and if anyone needs any Punto bits...

Wasn't that the deal before as well (which he broke).

Jebus, i can't believe your parents are even letting him out in a car again.

This will keep on happening y'know?

I would ask the local police to come and have a word. I am sure they would rather speak to the guy about his driving whilst he was still alive. A days ride with the traffic police might wake him up some perhaps? Seeing what my brother has to deal with on a day to day basis as a traffic officer sure sobered me up some. He once took me to the car yard where they keep the fatal/serious accident wrecks. It was far from pretty and really hits home.

My driving was altered forever.

Cumbria Police are doing a bit of a push on poor driving over the Easter period, so might be worth calling them on 0845 33 00 247 and ask to speak to traffic, and see what they can do for him.

Yeah, sounds to me that you can't really reason with him anymore - leaves the only option of taking the car away

I think this time he may well heave learned, plus we have all his friend's sisters ready to text my sister, who calls one of us, if one of them witnesses another episode starting. It's the tried and tested Sister SMS Network (SSMSN).

They've had quite a few words.

Exactly they will probably be more than happy to take him out for a day or at least show him what happens. It can help knock off that drivig god invincibility that he is currently feeling.

My brother used to be a car nut and drive like a loony.. However, after picking up limbs from the roadside, and seeing people die infront of him it totally changed his attitude to driving. It sounds drastic, but he is riding his luck already, its not going to last forever!

Sorry, but I wouldn't even entertain the idea of letting him have another car even if he paid for it himself.
How long before some poor sod gets involved in one of his "accidents" and gets seriously hurt.
If he loses his licence for going over 6 points, do you think he will not drive??
Or do you think it will probably slow him down when he gets it back?
I mean after all that he has been told by everyone, he still razzes about like a dipstick and appears to have a complete disregard for everyone else's safety.
Why don't any of his mates do the driving instead of him?

I can't understand why you want an Alfa or a Fiat with the sort of budget you are on, most will be either knackered or rough as hell.
I'd either go with the Mondeo, Xantia or a 306DT.
I know you said you don't like the Mondy, but it's a decent car for not a lot of cash.:)

A licence ban would definitely teach him, BUT he'd loose his job.

He only has these incidents when he's with his mates, or when he's dicking about going the long twisty way to our sister's.

He should be OK just going to collage and back, so long as we can keep him out of the car at lunchtime. Lots of young lads, cars, quiet car park...

Someone else had a car thread the other day and said they didn't like Mondeos, how come they didn't get a pounding?

I haven't bashed you for not liking the Mondy, just tried to look at it from a cost effective point of view.
It's your choice at the end of the day, but if you are dead set on those types of cars then just be prepared to accept that they can come with problems more often than not.

but Fiats are crap.

Whilst we are out painting with the generalisation brush, who on earth would buy those poxy rubbish BMWs and Fords?

So, rather than a Fiat with a somewhat dubious reputation for electrics, go for an ageing Peugeot and guarantee you will have electrical issues. I guess it means you don't have to worry if it will go wrong, just when.

I wouldn't, given how many I've seen broken over the years across the UK and Europe :)

Oddly enough, the worst ones I see for broken down and needing rescuing are VAG products. It's amusing to drive past these people in my cars - after all:

1) One is an eight-year-old small Fiat, and therefore hugely unreliable and should probably have rusted away by now. Except it isn't and hasn't.
2) The other is American, and therefore built by people who can't actually build cars.
