Fine if you need them quieter for higher clocks, but I don't like those coolers which pulls the heat from the GPU straight into the case. Talking from experience, you want most of the hot air vented straight out of the case and this relies on your case having excellent cooling. The cooler looks quite tall as well which could be worry for SLI setups in the dissipation of heat which could be disrupted.
 
Does seem great value for a 580, but £400 is a lot of money for a gfx card :P

I got GTX 460, don't think I can justify paying 4x the price for less than 2x the performance increase :P

People who buy 580's aren't going to worry too much about the price when they already will have a fairly good setup. But once two 580's cost £900, that is quite a lot.

But on your second point; probably why people are buying two 6970s for £552 total which is the same gaming performance in the reviews I've seen (bar 3DMark).

I received my card today and it wasn't the one advertised in this thread and the one on the OCUK web site.

There is no default overclock to the speeds highlighted :(

Anyone else get the same?
 
i got mine but i ordered the day the offer came up, we really need these threads merged a person called spudgun is saying his came without an overclock, i find this issue on google too but its just the one person, perhaps this is a batch error? my box clearly says OC on it but i cannot test it, if its not what it says it is im unsure if i want to keep or not.

Take a photo of the front box if your sure it's not OC edition. Then post it here as reasonably sized JPG (1024x768) so others who bought the MSI 580GTX OC can help each other out. On the front of the box - top right - it should say "OC Edition".

To go a bit further, post your GPU-Z screenshot which will show your default clock speeds. Should show core @823MHz.
 
My OC edition box has the OC logo in the bottom right corner, but both GPU-Z and afterburner confirm the card as having stock clock speeds.

I am in correspondence with OCUK via webnote about this and they have asked for extra information so that they can check things out

Oh dear, it is looking increasingly likely that OCUK got a bad batch of cards from MSI here and someone who packs cards for MSI put stock cards in OC boxes before sending them to distributors.

Well they also put the wrong serial numbers on the card as well then. I checked with a MSI rep and the serial number on the card is for the OC version.
