Anyway, I don't see much wrong with those screenies to be honest, (though the animations do irritate me slightly). Visually it's perfectly servicable for the type game HGL is, being an action focused, online RPG with randomly generated terrain.
The demo hasn't exactly wow'd me but I fail to see why the game is being talked down quite as badly as it is. What worries me is just how much actual game there is going to be in HGL. Aside from the obvious level and loot grinding, what I've seen hasn't been particularly earth-shattering. Sure, the game is Diablo's "spiritual successor" but you would have hoped there would at least be some sort of innovation here. That, and the fact Flagship keep trying to advertise their game on future promises (see above link) makes for a bit of a 50/50 purchase I think.
Fingers crossed retail HGL and it's immediate patches flesh out the game into something with a little more substance. It definitely has potential, but then the premise always has...
