*configuring
Hey all I'd appreciated any advice!
I'm going to do fresh install
I'm trying to decide on best way how to configure my hard drives
My PC is used for gaming and video editing / animation

HARD DRIVES AVAILABLE:
1x 1tb m.2 nvme
3x 1tb HDD
1x 128gb ssd
1x 40gb ssd (i have it may as well use it)

I can't afford to buy any more hardware atm and I read it's best to install games and Adobe apps on separate Windows installations for stability- It would be easier to maintain if they were separate.

Feels very unorthodox but so far I'm thinking..

Gaming / general use :
Nvme = Windows, apps & some games
2x 1tb hdd raid 1 for general storage

Professional Editing :
128 ssd Windows and Adobe apps
1 x 1tb hdd storage
40 gb for a cache drive
- I have plenty of external drives for large rushes files etc.

Any advice appreciated.
Thanks for any help!

Hey
I read it was good to have separate windows for Adobe apps and games.

Not sure what you mean by how quick is my editing?
Dual boot use to be good if you had lack of resources such as ram but not sure it's needed unless you like to keep things it seperate.

Is your hard drives set up for the fastest (data transfer) speeds you have a 40gb ssd as a cache/scratch drive but old mechanical drives are only good for storage.

What size files are you working with ?

Rushes / footage large video files normally on external hard drives provided by client.
SanDisk ssd extreme usually.

Mechanical HDD will just be for project files, final masters and misc storage
