Top Tip...

if you decide to have something spicey, ask for a glass of milk, the spices in the foods are acidic by nature, milk is an alkaline, remember the PH scale at school ? :) youl cancel out the acids and stop your mouth from burning.
Milk is neutral i.e. pH 7 or thereabouts ;).

The capsaicin chemical stuff that makes things hot and spicy is much more soluble in alcohol and milk than in water (something of the order of a thousand times more soluble). Thus a beer or a milkshake is a good idea with a curry, and in fact a beer is the traditional accompaniment.

King prawn dopiaza (sp?) would be my first choice :D

Failing that, just stagger into the place after you've piled yourself full of beer, shout a lot, order more beer and then order the hottest thing on the menu and then tell the waiter to make it extra hot :D It's tradition you know ;)

Thanks again for your help guys. I had chicken korma in the end. Very nice. tried a few others off peoples plates as well. I think I made the right choice :)
Definitely going to go again, although not that particular curry house. We got barred, apparently they don't like loud parties of ten.

lol, glad you had a great time.

I wouldn't have suggested a Korma because I find them far too sweet and sickly, but I'm glad you liked it :) Another vote for Rogan Josh here, it's lovely. I usually end up having a Biriani though with a plain or garlic naan though.

 Whoa! Very similar to me. As I've said I'm a Rogan Josh fan, but a lamb one rather than chicken. I've tried Kormas before but I'm not really a fan.

I normally have a Lamb Rogan Josh, the mandatory Pilau rice, some Bombay potatoes and some plain poppadoms and a plain Naan. Makes me happy if a little full for a while.:D

I did try a vindaloo a while ago, it was OK I thought until the heat came to me a few seconds later. Might try it again with a lager, but probably not milk. I doubt my mum would believe me if I started talking about drinking milk to lessen the spiciness of a vindaloo.

had a good one from my local the other night, it was a chicken tikka Makhani.

i'm going through their entire menu, as everything on it except for King prawn and their mixed grill is on the student offer they do...

£5 will get you

any curry (except those mentioned above)
pilau rice
popadom
plain naan

and some of the curries you can chose for this are £7!

glad you had a good time, ive stopped eating the stupidly hot curries now, no flavour in them at all.
