Help launch a new case!

without a doubt the import tax crap adds a really annoyingly high amount to it, more infact than than the entire shipping and handling costs from the USA ..... meh!
And usually with the states you would not pay tax there if shipping the item directly out of state/country, but with this i am assuming US tax is also paid on it

it's still a very nice case, that will be a little special or a while to come yet. 425 of the limited 600 production run have been claimed already.

I ordered one. Had my eye on it for ages, following my attempt to make a similar layout chassis which was only moderately successful and rather less professional looking. Will be a nice post Christmas gift to myself and for that I'm grateful I'm paying now not in the holiday season ;)

I keep getting excited by update emails arriving in my inbox about this, but they're always about refunds from eegits that managed to order two. It's frustrating! Christmas seems a very long way away. So me and Skyboat... Any other takers? Skyboat have you decided on a PSU and slim ODD?

I'm gonna be using the internals from my SG05 including the ST45SF, and upgrading the motherboard to a Z77. ODD is not a priority for me, that'll be whenever I see a bargain ;)

I ordered at around the 450 mark.

for that price i think i might prefer the compact splash case.

Just been having a look at the case and it looks good too. Shame delivery costs so much, and venturing in to water cooling is a bit daunting but required for the Compact Splash.

I caved and went for one lol !!

Will likely use the 450W Silverstone SST-ST45SF-G power supply, motherboard, whilst i like the Asus ROG Impact, i think cost might get the better of me, and i'll probably go for the ASRock Z87E-ITX board and a nice big mSATA SSD :D CPU is likely to be one of the Xeon E3's not sure yet which one. Good Optical drives are beginning to become rare again, especially since sony collapsed the optiarc range, but some are still to be found, and panasonic still make some good ones, i haven't looked enough at it yet, but will likely get a combo rather than BD burner, i have one of those in my laptop and i simply havent used it, havent decided on a GPU yet, because i'm not a gamer, so my options are a little more i think. CPU cooler has to be sealed water unit really i think :)

Shipping from mid-November. I'd forgotten about import duties - has anyone got any idea how much that'll be? I still need to get a small form factor PSU too. Really looking forward to it though - I still think they look brilliant!

Does anyone know anyone that will let me order one? I did not get in with the original Indigogo?

They say unless you ordered from the starters program, you wont be able to get one. Is this true?

I think the import duties come to more than the delivery cost from the US ! .... there was a calculator on one of the sites, i think, if i remember correctly, it'll be into me for about £196 after delivery and import duties, and that was including the extra top panel that has no optical drive slot.
I think the problem is you pay tax into the US then regional here, sometimes just no avoiding it :(

@Evoss, basically, yes, they only had the crowd funding/indigogo program and a limited number on their website after that was over-subscribed, i dare say a few will be sold via the [H]ardForum when they arrive as people change their minds/plans, but i would expect them to cost more that way.

Best SFF PSU out there right now is probably the Silverstone 450w Gold rated unit - even if you do opt for a fan mod on it..... http://www.silverstonetek.com/product.php?pid=342&area=en

I think until Silverstone release an SFX PSU with a bit more grunt (500-550w), then I may have to delay me using this case.

Looks like the R290x I plan to use will draw a lot of power.

I really that case but that only allow 2 HDDs really let me down

I was hoping 6+

?

Drives:
3 x 3.5" mounts:

1 on case floor
2 in removable side bracket (cannot be used with dual radiator)

3 x 2.5" mounts:

1 inside chassis front
1 behind front panel (in place of optical drive)
1 on case bottom (in place of 3.5" drive)
included double-stacking bracket allows 2 x 2.5" drives on one mount (depending on drive thickness)

Back
Top Bottom
