Help me!! Car decision gets harder - Your thoughts, anybody know of any reviews?

Gibbo, I have decided that you do not deserve to own these cars for your previous crime........having a pair of TSW Venoms on your Pug.

Mustang for the road presence - it'll turn heads and has a much bigger "wow" presence. A porsche is just a porsche. you also get more seating room too (carry your friends round and impress them at the same time 4seat vs 2 isnt it?)

how long would you be thinking of keeping the car this time? im guessing both cars would hold their value well with little depreciation

I've driven a few left hookers, it's really not that bad on the road. You've got enough power to blat out and dodge back in anyway, and, if you're that concerned about it there are some pretty funky in-mirror kits that relay a picture of what's coming towards you on the RHS to a small LCD somewhere in the dash :)

Looks sound etc I'd say the Mustang by a mile looks the DB's. How easy will it be if something breaks on it? Glass breakage etc. Are you going to be waiting weeks for parts on your daily driver? I know the porker isn't exactly run of the mill Focus but I guess being an officially sold UK car its easier to get parts?

If my girlfriend had a bottom that big I'd have to shoot her! :D

However, isn't there some song about big bottomed women having more fun? ;)

Mustang IMO. People with a bit of money seem to buy Porsches without even thinking about it - there a bit like the Impreza version of a supercar.

Mustang for me as well. Can;t find a review of the Saleen, but there is a review on PistonHeads of the Roush 420RE with a good description of how the rear suspension is done (it is a live axle, but quite a "trick" one by the sounds of it).

Clicky for review

yea, they dont mind if you enter the exhaust ;)

The Porshe is a horrible cold clinical car that has no outward look of fun or feeling. Its just... bland? They do nothing for me.

The Mustang makes me feel funny looking at it - it HAS to be the Mustang!

If you can find one, certain import companies offer the option for the car to be converted to right hand drive, at addition cost of course. But it would help the ease of resale and depreciation?

If the mustang was right hand drive i dont think youd be asking the question, if you can sort it out then it takes an already awsome car to perfection.

Mustang is the pimp daddy car, Porsche is the successful businessman.....
But the more serious questions are will it be 993 or 996?
Dry sump or ?
I'm sure you've looked into which Porsche variant you prefer and the merits of each.
Also, did you not have an s2000 and get tired of the quirky features/everyday experience?
Would the same happen with the Mustang?
The Porsche is acknowledged to be the standard in driveable, everyday supercars.
It may not have some of the "features" of the Mustang, but think carefully about your investment, enjoyment and realistically the day to day living aspects.
Perhaps you should ask yourself the question - if you had both, which would you use most days through choice?
That may help you with your decision.

Absolutely hate the mustang and I absolutely love 911s. Guess which I'd go for :p

Serious no brainer imo.

The mustang is like some commercially churned out rubbish pop group. absolutely no substance under the pretense of style. And paying £8k over the odds for one, and it being left hand driver. Seriously cannot see any plus points of owning the mustang.

I've always loved 911s and would jump at the chance to own one. doesn't bother me that they are everywhere. they are simply awesome.

all imo ofc :)

I think you've got that analogy wrong.

The Saleen Mustang is like the Rolling Stones on Viagra. Old tech with new tech added.

The Porsche 911 is like a modern manufactured pop band. In a few years it will be replaced by another that looks similar but is different.

Personally I would get the Mustang, but it would be a convertible.
