Help with radiator for 3090 SLI cooling

Currently in my gaming/workstation setup i have 10900k cooled with an h150i pro xt AIO and a single 3090 ftw3 (currently air cooled) with second one arriving soon and then i plan to put both into a loop.

I have to use quadro rtx a6000 3 slot (yes quadro bridges work with regular RTX 3000 series cards) as my mobo does not support 4 slot spacing used by regular bridge for 3000 series, that means the top card will be choking so close to bottom card which has led me to explore watercooling options for my setup.

My case is Phanteks Enthoo 719, i have h150i pro xt mounted at the top of the case and at least for now i want to keep CPU on AIO and make custom loop JUST the GPUs so i wanted to know if single front mounted 360mmx30mm, single 420m or even maybe 480mm (if i can fit it due to AIO rad on top) will be good enough to cool this setup.

My case can accept 120mm rear rad, up to 360mm top, up to 360mm bottom and up to 480 front but as AIO rad is already mounted on top and i have HDD cage with two 4tb HDDs containing my project archives mounted at the bottom i can only mount radiator for GPUs in front so the max i can do is probably a single 480 but i would perfer 360, do you think a single 360 or 480 might be good enough?

As Nvidia mostly killed SLI for gaming the only times when both GPUs would be under load is when im rendering a 3D animation, for 99% of the games only single GPU would be active while second one would idle, i dont mind if PC is loud while rendering as im usually not in the same room as PC when its rendering my animations and for gaming most of the time only one gpu would be active.

Also, should i be concerned about pump and the tubing, i plan on probably using EKWB D5 pump, EKWB waterblocks and probably EKWB rad and i plan to use soft tubing and im a bit concerned if pump and tubing will be able to handle the temperature of the coolant with 2x 3090 ftw3.

I apologize for bad english, if something is hard to understand due to my bad english please let me know and i will try to clarify

This video should give you an idea regarding watercooling a 3090 :-

My 3090 SLI/NVLINK system that is air cooled and works very well, pictures in the link too :-

A decent 480 rad with fans in push + pull should handle 2 x 3090.

A 360 rad might be a bit of stretch.

The D5 pump is quite a beast of a pump. I've seen those pumps handle 3 gpu water blocks (in both series and parallel setups) + a cpu water block over 2x 480 rads and still maintain decent flow.

I have 2x 3x180mm monster rad hooked up to my 3090fe and 2080ti gaming x and 5900x I barley see over 45 on either when they are full chat with high ocs and a 5900x at 5ghz PBO

Great English mate, welcome to the forums!

@Purgatory were you the only dual user, I thought there was another fella.

If it was easier to air cool on a mobo that spaced them wider I would have got another 3090, I think only the server grade boards make that easy but thats a huge outlay so waiting if any regular boards fit the bill (that dont cost the earth).

I think I'm the only one, there was another two people on the oc forums that purchased 2 x 3090 but didn't run them in SLI/NVLINK and @Kaapstad but I don't think he has got round to doing it too. On other forums there is a lot of people using 2 or more 3090s and even some using 8 x 3090 for a rendering/AI station. The 3090 is a big hit for such workloads and shocked how many people actually have SLI/NLINK setups with these cards and always people asking how to set a system up for more than one 3090. Seems Nvidia struck gold with the 3090 for users that want to run such setups.

Many more videos with videos showing such setups with 3090s and other cards.

Not sure why it didn't notify me that you replied to me above . I just realised now you had messaged @ me. Strange.

I am still interested in picking up another, just waiting for a mobo that would accommodate the airflow (space between slots) or the price of the obscene ones to drop enough.

Which CPU are you using ? If air cooling get a 4 slot spaced board, anything less you would need blower 3090s or watercooling. There is now more x570 boards with 4 slot spacing, before was only the MSI x570 Godlike but they were selling for £1500+ used and new.. and still are and even selling now for over £2k ..when you can get them, but ASUS and EVGA now have 4 slot spaced x570 too, still expensive but way cheaper than the Godlike.

Careful with Z690 4 slot spaced boards as most don't allow sli/nvlink as the only slot that is pcie 5 is the first and the more expensive 4 slot boards £1k+ split the first slot to the other slot to allow 4 slot spaced sli/nvlink. so step with care with some motherboards that have 4 slot spacing, doesn't mean they allow sli/nvlink.

Yes that's when I last looked and moved on swiftly as I am not interested, another 3090 is costly enough. I hope to get a 4 slot spaced board then that reasonably priced and allow nvlink!
