Here we go again - Clattenburg accused of racism

They're grown men, take it on the chin and move on, if it escalates to a point where like their personal copy of the bible get's burned or beaten up etc then fair enough, but this is getting boring now.

There are photos on the Daily Mail site of Chelsea fans crushing a steward and throwing a seat at a couple of Man Utd players.

Really sad when people can't go to a game without causing trouble and wanting to kick off. :(

Are we sure that this isn't just Chelsea trying to deflect attention away from the result? Or maybe just chucking their toys out of the pram?

Clattenburg doesn't seem phased.

I'm actually getting pretty annoyed/embarrassed by all of this now. It is actually spoiling football for me at the moment as the side show that surrounds it all is getting more coverage than the games themselves.

What was said "exactly"

How much abuse would he have got from the players?

If he said something racial then fair enough about making a complaint (Good PR by Chelsea there)
If he told them to "**** off"....who gives a flying one?

So how's about that put respec" back and into soccer scheme I mentioned in the last racist thread? Of doesn't matter if he called him a wop a Tigger or a *** hole. Its just plain old offensive behaviour that should not be tolerated by anyone.

The only paid workers who have a justification for swearing is probably soldiers on the front line who come under intense conditions and get paid a low salary. The rest of them are just taking the proverbial and this behavior needs a correction.

This is low from Chelsea.

He had a poor game, but to embark on a character assasination such as this against the referee is simply unacceptable.

Problem is the word 'monkey' is used in legitimate phrases. Clattenburg might have accused Mikel of being a 'cheeky monkey' or when Ramires scored Chelsea's equalizer he might have told him that he got the 'monkey' off his manager back.

Or maybe due to the rule that states only the team captain can address referee decisions to him, maybe when Mikel was remonstrating over his red card, Clattenburg told him he could only speak to the 'organ grinder and not the monkey' which to someone not familiar with that phrase could be very confusing.

Finally, it is OK to say Gareth Bale looks like a monkey on the basis that he does?
