Hey so i like Harry Potter

Never read a single book but I watched the films. I actually enjoyed it.

Still, if anyone remembers when dumbledore and Voldemort met and had a duel. I really felt like they should have bought the .9’s out and started blasting each other.

Can't stand the franchise.

Not sure what is happening with BookFace either, scolling through there is always something HP related! I have never searched or clicked on anything, but still i am seeing HP memes, advertisements etc!

I tried to get the kids and i into HP when they were younger, even buying them the HP book set - neither of them are HP fans and can't understand the fascination either.

wow i am sober now yet don't regret posting, i love the way the films grow up with he cast and wouldn't be without my blu ray collection
also this on the way

The spider scene from chamber of secrets puts me on edge, what a wuss i am

Books are actually based and so are the films until the later half where they've kinda decided that important context in the books don't matter anymore. I remember at uni when the films started coming out they were massive events.

That new beasts film trilogy though is absolute garbage.

Will be interesting to see what the new HBO deal brings as they wanted to be much more strict with the source material if I remember correctly.

it makes me sad that there aren't films like this any more.

we hard LOTR and HP relieasing at the same time. people queing up at midnight to get the book/first showing. they'd queue in full character. what fun.

now, you go watch a movie and the screen can be half empty for a brand new released film.

The quality of movies being released at the cinema these days has massively declined, as well as cinema tickets being massively more expensive. I'm not at all surprised.

Personally, there's very few movies that I feel are worth the big screen experience. For me, the last two were Top Gun Maverick and Avatar 2.

They've come down massive amounts since 2020. Prices lower than I can remember. £5/£6 per ticket, with bogof deals on Tuesday or Wednesday, cheaper during day time hours etc.

I think the price of the ticket issue isn't correct. The price of food and drinks however is stupid. I'd buy from them of a coke cost £2 rather than say £1.60 from mcd, but it costs £4.50. Stupid price.

Those prices are much, much cheaper than what I can get an IMAX or IMAX-like ticket for here in the USA. Daytime matinée IMAX is £12+ around here, with an evening ticket costing £16+.

I personally don't care for eating and drinking through a movie, so I tend to just bring a Hydroflask of (tap) water in at the most.
