Some very odd replies to this thread tbh, thought I was in GD.
I'm a HP fan as are the family, enjoyed the books and films, really enjoyed the game.
It's harmless escapism, I don't get the hardcore obsession lot but you get extremes ends of the spectrum for everything.

I'd read the books after I'd watched the films at the cinema and that was about it. But now many years later my kids are into Harry Potter and I've bought them a tonne of HP Lego for Birthdays and Christmas presents. I guess I'm quite a Potter fan. I do find the movies great with Azkaban and Goblet being the stand out films.

Goblet is a good film. The best book is half blood prince by far.
Have you tried the audible books? Perhaps your kids will like them. They are the best audio books I've ever listened to.
