Hi my name is Linda and I am calling from Microsoft...

I didn't record it unfortunately no. I was semi getting ready to go out and sorting other stuff out so didn't really have the time to wind them up extensively. How does one go about recording calls on a landline? What is an easy way? I'd like to do this for when I speak to some of the incompetent CS desks for various things from time to time like my ISP.

You're not legally allowed to record a telephone call unless you tell the other party that you're doing so. True Call allows you to record telephone conversations but I'm sure there are many more methods.

What I don't get is, why don't those little sods over on 4chan, anonymous and co, get hold of one of these websites and blast them with those website bombarding devices and/or hack into their website, get crucial info and send them all viruses. That'd teach em!

They have bigger fish to fry.

I like to make a habit of telling anyone from a company that phones me that i'm recording the call for training purposes, they usually get really confused
