It's usually just an initialisation order, if no PCI-E GPU is detected it falls back to onboard GPU, if onboard GPU is set first it will not initialise PCI-E GPU.
You can always reset the CMOS to restore defaults anyway.
What is your "Init Display First" set to? try setting it to PCI-E or PEG or whatever it's called, you should be able to get back using the onboard if it doesn't work... otherwise just clear the CMOS.
I have tried peg and other ones still no joy can only get onboard working so I think it's time for new or used asus motherboard this is my first and last gigabyte motherboard.
