HID Conversion Kits

I dont know why you guys think that becuase they look very similar they are rebranded - they are not. This is what happens with Chinese stuff - it's VERY similar looking to established brands. You should see their cars

I'd agree on the whole but there is also the possibility that Philips simply source their ballasts from the same factory then slap their sticker on.

It's unlikley but who knows.

What you going to go for Smoked or the Xenon ones? :) later look so much nicer. PS don't get electrocuted fitting these :D

Smoked, but this depends on how much the projector lamps are on their own. May go for the projector lamps if I can get them at a similar price point. ST Smoked look really nice on silver cars though IMO.

The thing that makes me think its been copied to look the same is that its not an exact copy - the angle of the electrical arc on the warning sticker is totally different for example.

A case of 'Make X look like Y' rather than 'Modify Y to make X'

Quoting myself but just got the Official Ford price for the projectors...

No Ta

Put some ducktape over the top of your lights then, cheaper and at least you won't blind anyone ;)

I have polycarbonate lens I'm not too worried about blinding people or light scattering all over the shop, this debate has already been done to death. I'll try them out and get a few mates to drive towards me etc to see if they're distracting if they're THAT bad they come out.

Get them to drive behind you on a dark motorway too. Towards each other you are offset by at least a car width, you behind someone is probably the best test.
Will steal a light meter from work if you want :)

Oooo light meter sounds good :D

Won't have a clue how to use it though. I am a muppet :D.

Got the passenger side HID in today but unfortunately due to bad weather had to pull putting the other one in, I will do this tommorow though.

Some pictures of the beam pattern, my observation was that the Nightbreakers actually seem to scatter more, the beam pattern of the HID is very similar to the halogen beam pattern, this is one of the things they claim with this kit. Of course I still need to have them fully aligned but this gives you an idea of how they currently are.

Halogen Left HID Right

Just need to decide where to mount the ballasts, got some industrial strength velcro today which holds 15KG so will more than likely use this.

Seriously if you cant see the glare of the HID then you really do need your eyes checking.

If anything the halogens are just as bright as the HID, which shows how utterly poor the HID's are in non projector lamps

I walked around the front of the car and was yet to be blinded by glare. I do agree that the halogens seem as bright but I'm wondering if when I have both HID's in you will notice a brighter beam.

Just been out for a think and decided to stick my nightbreakers back in. I'm going to sell the kit and put it towards a new pair of ST170 lamps instead. I think it's more hassle than it's worth.

This pretty much prooves what we've been saying about after market HID kits, It doesnt work

i mean WTF is that ??
