Hogmanay / New Years Plans 2024

Food, wine, chocolate and most likely in bed before midnight.

Did the big NYE night out in London thing a couple of times over the years, but the last time was probably 2014/15 when our favourite local restaurant was still open. The big fireworks were an utter PITA to get to and from the last time we went in 2005. It must be properly diabolical now.

NYE fireworks are mostly a Paris thing over here, with Bastille Day being the annual local fireworks event. French NYE tradition is a big meal with friends & family and falling into a cheese and wine induced coma in the early hours of NYD.

Working until 2200 so won't be home until 2230, and I'm back in tomorow. But now I'm single and living on my own I can't be arsed to do anything. Might eat chocolate and watch Jools Holland until I go bed.

Currently having a brew and slice of cake on a sun lounger by the pool.

BBQ planned in a few hours time.

Will see in / "celebrate" the New Year hitting the UK at 8.00pm.local time (were 4 hours behind atm) then pootle down to the beach to welcome in the New Year or see our the Old Year and hopefully catch some fireworks :)

Plans:

Nothing particularly interesting planned, same as recent years. Just a quiet night in. I've got a few beers in and still on leave so I'll be awake for it. Most of the evening I'll just be gaming/watching YouTube. I'll likely stick the BBC Scotland Hogmanay show on at 2330, but its never been the same since Jackie Bird called it a day, every host since has just been complete dog ****.
