***Hogwarts Legacy - RPG***

Help help, I'm being repressed, you saw him didnt you, you saw him repressing me !

:D
I'm outraged. I'm going to boycott OcUK !

As for Hogwart's Legacy .... I'm actually looking forward to this game, a lot. Looks really fun, and can't beat a bit of wizarding. And I'm not even a huge HP fan.

Yet to see a bad review for it. Lots of 9/10s it seems. Most reviews saying its not perfect and has some issues, some technical, some game mechanics but that the Pros far outweigh the cons

A few reviewers have commented on the poor item itemisation, the large amount of copy/paste events in the open world (Ubisoftism) and somewhat lacklustre main story but have said that the created gameworld and atmosphere of the game are superb. Map is a bit smaller than the mapsize of Elden Ring (for the sake of comparison)

What are people thoughts on playing this on Steam Deck connected to 4k TV? Guess could always use the deck to stream from main PC but if my gf can run it just from the Deck then I can still use my PC :)

Avalanche not so long ago verified Hogwarts Legacy is Steamdeck verified so hooking it up to a TV should work no problem :)

Games looking good. There does seem to be a lot of review inflation from what I've seen. A lot of reviews seem to suggest the game is good but has performance issues, repetitive enemies and some of the quests are formulaic ie fetch this etc. With the issues being noted they still give the game 9/10. Seems to be the norm though nowadays especially with more of the mainstream reviews. Personally I can't wait, I still remember playing the philosophers stone on ps1. Having a modern hogwarts to wander around will be 'magical'

Certainly does seem to be a little review inflation going on, I'm guessing some reviewers are getting some of the memberberries feelings.

From the 6 or 7 reviews I've watched today I think it sounds like its a 7 to 8 game which is getting a little nostalgia boost to being an 8 to 9. Having said that, even a 7 to 8 is good for an open world game, especially when so many open world games end up being bad or meh at best. So thats a plus. From the reviews I've watched today I suspect the biggest personal negative for me will be the itemisation, I like a lot of stats in my rpgs and am a bit of a lootwhore so the Very basic stats on items in this will be a bit of a downer for me but I am hoping that will be offset by other positives

The mainstream gaming press have been inflating scores for years. Most “gamers” are no different. Elden ring is a perfect example of a game getting 10 out of 10 reviews by gamers and reviewers despite repetitive gameplay, re-used assets and bosses, no real story and buggy on release.

I tend to knock 2 from any review scores. And if that means 7 out of 10 and it’s a genre I like, then I optimistic.

I've pre-ordered it today. Frustrating we cannot pre-load for the early access on PC but given it unlocks at 6PM I should be fine getting in from the office and starting.

100% will be picking this up as soon as i have some spare pennies lol i loved the films ( later films mostly but seen them all) and this looks great, i like games that bring the child back out of me, just hope its not to difficult as not into challenging games in my old age

1st game I've ever pre-ordered despite all my instincts correctly telling me to not to......for no other reason than I'm working away when it released and my daughter (a massive massive potter fan) is demanding she play it release day.
I guess access to my PC will be limited for a while...
