Honestly after reading some of these sky community threads on your behalf I'd give up and grab a TP link archer to replace the sky garbage. My mum is on Sky and I ripped hers out minutes after being installed because it was so damn unreliable. The tp link setup wizard basically fills all the settings out for you.

Can you put a link to that router and i will give it some thought. Im pretty sure when i set it up last year, i was on BT then but didnt have the time to learn/use it as i wanted, so uninstalled it. Nowi got the rpi4 i thought hey time to get it all working again……what a mistake

Note - I'm not guaranteeing this will solve your issue but it eliminates the crap sky router for a start.

Cheers dlockers i will look into that…..it must be a router issue, as i cant see any ither reason why i cant see it. We tried everything now.

An update….

i changed the mtu size as per one of the sky community threads from 1500 to 1520 and now i have the log in screen, which i couldnt get before.

hopefully thats sorted it.

Whoever decided to make sky routers how they are needs a good hiding. It is so simple to not **** it up.

I got the log in screen for home assistant, but it wont log in now…..will check tmrw with rpi4

Its still not working properly.....i get to the log in screen and it goes no further in the ipad, but the laptop and android phone still nothing

I use the Volkswagen Integration, but since September I have been unable to get it to work, since they switched their Mobile App. Has anyone else been using this? are you still able to successfully integrate this into HA?

If so how are you doing this? which integration etc?

Had a play with go2rtc/web2rtc last night. The load times and lag with the generic camera always annoyed me. This is much much better.

its only being used to carry the ethernet and its using the same SSID - SKYDEXDD

Its a bit of a long shot but have you tried connecting with the wifi extender on and using the bthomespot-2H7 SSID.
It probably wont change anything but its worth a shot if you have not tried it.

No i havent tried it with using the homespot ssid, worth a shot i suppose.

Plugged personal laptop into ethernet in the office…instant access to HA.

I might do a fresh rebuild of HA when i get the card reader for my laptop as my works one wont let me download stuff without permissions granted. I will get this sorted.

might also get the hildebrand glow display as it has everything i need to attach in HA to read solar export, production gas and leccy use……wont have loads of cables around my leccy meter then which sets the Mrs OCD off.

There is a chance that'll work, as it won't need routing. Layer 2 arp cache and all that.

Update - logged in via the bthomespot-2H7 and got access to HA with no issues.

That means it is definitely an issue with the sky router itself.
Faulty router, wrong setting somewhere or the router firmware is somehow stopping the connection from wired to wireless connections.

Im going to change the router away from the sky one soon anyway. But at least its all working now.

Thanks for your help for now guys……lots more questions to come. Especially as i need to create a solar sensor for the energy tab from a current sensor that uses power as a measurement and not energy.

need the yaml code to make that work….if any one wants to put the help forward lol

Get onto the HA forums and FB groups, you'll learn a lot from looking at other people's stuff. It's the way I learnt, take something that someone else made and adapt it to work with your things.
