Homeworld & Homeworld 2 HD remakes in the works

Anyone tried it with the new update? I didn't actually ever get round to playing it last year and then decided to wait until they fixed the issues people were talking about.

Thanks for the info, I just opened HW remastered and sat there looking at the hourglass icon, had to wait about 4 hours before it let me do anything. I'll try the S/P campaign later tonight and see how it goes.

I bough this on off 15 euro.

God if they have fixed it recently I dread to think how bad it was.
One of my most memorable games of all time andthe memory tarnished for ever.

Mission 6 I was hit by 80 swarms the literally destroyed every wing I had systematically.
The balance doesn't feel right at all. Like I say I dread to see how this played at relaunch.

I'll probably play the originals but on the hw2 engine it sucks. I never liked hw2 as much anyway

Its worth persevering with, but its certainly harder than the original. Same thing happened to me on mission 6, virtual total wipeout of all strike craft but I've found if you ignore the "hyperpace" tab and instead just carry on harvesting, you'll get left alone and eventually you'll get enough resources to rebuild the fleet, I used a combo of multi gun corvettes and scouts (about 50 of 'em) and found that level was doable.
Even saying that though, the balance feels deffo in favour of the opposition.

Question for any players out there?

So with Salvage Corvettes, it seems if you tell them to simple "attack" an enemy ship (click on them), this does not behave the same as press Z and clicking on an enemy ship?

The latter captures the ship and the first doesn't? Does it scrap the ship for RUs or something?

Just seems odd the default behaviour doesn't do the most obvious request?

I played the original game back in the day and I did not do very well.
Despite mutltiple attemps, I don't think I made it past mission 5.

Being older, wiser and filled with more self loathing, I've decided to give the remastered games a try.
I've heard that the remstarted version has campaign scaling. The more ships you bring into a mission, the bigger the enemy fleet.
Since I've struggled in the past, how much of an issue is this scaling?

I've downloaded the 2.3 players patch on recommendation for it's bug fixes.
Does the difficulty slider just affect mission scaling or does it affect other areas?
I like to play most games on normal difficulty, but am I just better off throwing this on easy to save my sanity at the expense of my pride?

I didn’t find it that hard, once you unlock the capital ships (destroyer & drednaughts) and support (repair) frigates, you can pretty much just cut through what the CPU players throw at you with minimal losses.
