Honest shopper thread!

No, they would be quick to point out that "all change should be checked before leaving the store" if I went back in beause I had been short changed.

Yup

Have done in the past, someone else's job could be on the line, I'd wouldn't like to think I could have done something to prevent it.

Well,

Works both ways I guess :)

2 months. They sacked me eventually, not because of my cash-giving antics, but because (apparantly) I didn't smile enough.

Getting sacked from a supermarket in 2 months is pretty difficult. You must have been really really crap.

:p

Not that your likely to be bothered at being crap at a supermarket job.

Well I was there for whatever the basic 'training' contract is for. 6 weeks at least I think. Maybe more. But I think it's fair to say I'll never be a model employee for any soulless megachain.

But yeah, the point is that aside from the occasional bit of free cash, I also undercharged for shopping etc and nobody EVER came back to me and said "actually I think you undercharged, here's the money I actually owe". :p

Yeah, Unless I'm like half way home or something.

I normally count change as I leave the shop or add it up in my head while waiting (don't normally pay with cash anyway) but if it was wrong I'd say.

Honestly depends on the service I receive. If the person was rubbish, rude or I genuinely had a very unpleasant time, then no. Otherwise, yes I probably would. It does also depend on how far away I am from the store and other variables, mind.

"errr, sorry was just reading your name badge"

"My god you have a long name"

Edit: but yeah I probably wouldn't. In fact at college the other day I bought a carton of orange juice and the cashier accidentally gave me back my money plus the change that she owed me. Of course I didn't notice this until she was long gone and this was a case of 65p or so. :p

This pretty much.
