Honest shopper thread!

If you were given too much change in a shop......and you only realised maybe 10 minutes after you'd left the premises that they'd actually given you change for a £20 note instead of a tenner that you'd given them.......... now be honest with your answer, would you go back to the shop and give it back?

they have signs saying check all change before you leave the shop as they wont sort it after that, so no :p

I hate messing up change for customers :(

Ladbrokes get really fussy about cash diff's... just like if you are early then "so what" (was half an hour early the other day) but 5 mins late and OMFG YOU ARE LATE AAAAAAAAARRRRRGHHHHBLERH! :(

You sound like you've got some bells for managers.

Happened on a few occasions, if i've noticed at the till i have always rectified their mistake, if i noticed after i left the premises, i haven't bothered.

No.

I'd rather the tenner to be put towards travelling fund honestly or at least a few pints while I'm away.

If I was 10 minutes away, no.
If I noticed straight away, or just as I was walking away, yes.

This might be a bit of a diff situation though, if I was still there then my moral compass would probably win.

Well,

Works both ways I guess :)

Agreed - it works both ways. If the casher could not be bothered to give me the right change or was silly, stupid, tired - drunk, etc. Then I can't be bothered to go give them to change back.

Just to throw a spanner in the works...

I once went to buy meat and drinks from my local supermarket - lady put all the items through and I paid and left. On the way home I noticed the meat was not on the list...and I paid for whatever was on the list only..thus, 1 x free packet of meat.

Would you go back and tell them?

I didn't.
