Honest shopper thread!

absolutely yes, I once went back into B&Q after not paying for some 99p reduced bird feed. I went back in and said sorry I didn't see this in the bottom of the trolley, she looked at me like I was mental and asked why I even bothered!

You sound like you've got some bells for managers.

Yeah, sometimes I don't know why I bother working, pretty much every job I've had has been the same, if only I could fund a student life off of a student loan :(

I once bought a meal at Burger King and they put it through the till at 58p, instead of £5.89.

It was delicious.

Not entirely related but..

Best ever day as a teenager (.. actually, ever)

Hot summers day, find a £5 note on the pavement, pick it up, no one around.

Walk to McDonalds, "Chocolate milkshake please" "99p please" hands over the fiver.

£9.01 change = EPIC WIN.

Got me curious now, what do you think it means ? :)

It means be grateful for a gift without questioning the value of the gift in front of the giver.

So...

1) Excessive change is not a gift
2) The value of excessive change is not in question
3) You aren't questioning the cashier on the value of the excessive change.

I'm honest with change, but I generally check it before I leave the shop - if I've ended up with too much, I'll hand it back there and then. Pocketing change wipes the slate clean for me - I have no idea how much I've got on me until the next time I have reason to pull it out hand have a look, so unless I catch over- or under-charging before leaving, I'm not going to catch it later. Still, I'd feel uncomfortable walking out of a shop with extra cash that isn't mine.

I'd see free money as a gift and i wouldn't offend the cashier and make them feel bad about making a mistake by bringing it to thier attention :)

To me it means if you recieve something for nothing don't question it just accept it and enjoy..

Happened to me in Primark the other week, the girl just wasn't paying any attention. I pocketed it and wondered off. Got myself a double espresso instead of a single with my winnings.
