Horizon Zero Dawn

Very tempted by this now, played it on PS4 but not done Frozen Wilds so thinking i might play it all again on PC, got a 2700x and GTX 1660 should be enough.

for those who have played horizon and control which would you recommend? Both on sale but don't have time for both

I loved both, but I think Horizon Zero dawn has the most variety and is a much bigger and longer game, plus it has an absolutely amazing story.

Both games are pretty unique though and have amazing atmosphere. Horizon has a real sense of mystery and wonder, and Control really nails the X-Files/Fringe weirdness.

No contest for me between the two games. I abandoned Control after 15 hours as I got a bored and frustrated with it. Horizon, on the other had had me hooked from the first minute right through to the end, including the DLC. Actually, I was gutted when Horizon was over as it was such a joy to play.

I went.... Whaaaaa, I want more! That cliffhanger.

When I first saw that gigantic dead machine behind the Deathbringer I honestly thought that was going to be the end boss battle the way they set it up.

I'm surprised to see so many people recommend control over hzd... I thought control just looked like a wham bam thank you for the Ray tracing done in a few hours game vs the jewel in the ps4 crown that is hzd.

I've not played either but the price of hzd is painful esp as you can't sell it. See control on sale all the time for like a tenner though

I thought Control was pretty poor once it got started same old repetitive action just in a different room. HZD was brilliant great story full of exploration, it does get repetitive also but not as bad as control

Probably because Horizon is a long quest. I remember burning 225 hours in it even after end game. Kept chasing better coil upgrades to squeeze that extra damage out. Farming Thunderjaws was great for upgrades.
