It's not working for me. It says it can't connect to the internet and that I need a Playstation account to play.

Possibly something to do with me being on Linux and using Gamescope to enable HDR...

Edit: Nope, it's not that. I'll try a reinstall

On Steam I just clicked B to skip signing into PSN, nice that this game has that option unlike a couple others.

That has progressed me a bit further thanks in that I now get the option to proceed to login to/create a Playstation account but I don't have one and don't want one so what now?

Never mind. I've requested a refund.

Maybe I'm missing something but I absolutely hate these underhand tactics to get people to sign up and share their data. Nowhere that I can see does it state that a PS account is required and it's certainly not a requirement of the original PC games so it should be in big letters somewhere IMO. According to Steam I've had 25 minutes game time already and I've actually not managed to launch the thing fully yet.

It says it almost immediately under the header image on the game page. But yes, it's a grab, I can't say it isn't advertised well though

I see on the store page it now says "Requires 3rd-Party Account: PlayStation Network (Supports Linking to Steam Account)"

I don't think that was there when I pre-ordered and I can't see any way to bypass it.

It was there a few days ago when I had checked the price, I'd (hope/think) they realised this would be a source of complaints but refunds are usually easy enough on Steam.
I don't think there's a way to bypass no, I hate things like this that add 0 value

Does it have the native controller gyro support that I believe was in Forbidden West?

It has gyro aiming yes, depending on your controller you can use it if it has a gyro, most are active when in Switch mode, others work in Xinput mode like the Gamesir Tarantula Pro.

You guys not using Keyboard and mouse?

Na got high performance TMR stick controllers so I prefer those for games like this now

On first run it says you can sign in or press back/B on controller to skip, I skipped and it went right to the main menu where there is a PSN network sign in option which you can log into if you want thereafter:

I think that's what frustrates me most. The OG is one of the games of all time for me - I love it. I would gladly pay double the £10 they are asking for this if it didn't have that unnecessary crud built in.

Works better with controller, imo. That's what the game was originally designed for.

It's perfectly playable with mouse and KB yes but you get the best experience with a controller as you have haptics and being able to just kick back into the chair and play etc.

Not with this game, if I click the button to sign in it does not recognise me and I have to log in fresh for example.

Either work. Controller you have the haptics, but mouse works fine. I’m playing this one with mouse and keyboard, but I played forbidden west with a controller.

Yo I just realised something and I am super annoyed, we got charged £40+ for RDR release on PC, not even a proper remaster, yet HZZD is £10 and it's effectively a visual remake given how much nicer it looks than the original.

Seemingly I'm going against grain here but game is easier with MNK, atleast in the OG version, dunno if they've changed it but in NG+ on ultra hard there was no aim assist allowed and yeah aiming on a controller without it is rough IMO

Tried to play this a couple times but stopped for something else, no fault of the game. Might purchase the £10 remaster and jump on this when I finish a couple other games.
