Horsemeat

Hmm, this could be a hurdle for Tesco to overcome.

A HURDLE!!!

I just read through 4 pages to make sure it hadn't been used, A HURDLE! A HURDLE! LOL ROFL! .........

A hur.......

.....

Yeah.

I like Horse meat, makes amazing spicy sausage more than anything else. Sort of like a cheaper beef with a different texture. Really enjoyable though and usually in meat selections in France.

Horse meat is excellent. I practically lived off it for about 18 months when living in France, and after that beef seems a bit tame. Its juicy, tasty and cooks in a flash.

The ethical, packaging and labelling issues aside, personally if Tesco, Sainsburys or whoever started selling horse steaks - labelled as such - I would purchase it over a good cut of beef in an instant.

Frankly I don't know why we don't eat more Horse, and yet have no issue with Kangaroo or Crocodile or whatever is in fashion at the time - horse meat is simply delicious!

i know a few people who keep/ride/love horses, i cant say the same for crocodile or kangaroo

I know a few people who keep/love chickens (you can't ride a chicken). Most people who keep/love cows or goats or sheep or pigs will still send them to slaughter for a good roast dinner. Whats the problem here?

We are carnivores. We are built to be carnivores. May as well enjoy the bounty of the world rather than being tied up in some exclusionary idealism. Even Vegetarians need protein supplements.

Exactly, there are Kangaroo nurseries and Croc farms all over the world, In most of Europe the horse is not seen as a viable meal. doesnt mean its the same world wide

everything you listed there is 'normal food' for the UK market (with goat being a bit rarer) where as horse isnt, the people i know view their horses as pets in the same way others would a cat or dog.
personally i dont care what people eat

I am looking at my much loved and doted after cat here and wondering how she would taste in my slow cooker after she finally keels over ;) After all I have spent a fortune on fattening her up with Whiskers treats and go-cat... lol ;)
