Hot Fuzz **SPOILERS**

wow I'm surprised this film is getting such a bad response from some ppl? I went to see it last night with the g/f and i thought it was bloody brilliant!

It has everything, humour/gore/guns/fighting! I didn't find the start particularly slow either, I enjoyed it all the way through - just a really great and funny film!

Agreed, just come back from seeing it. I was expecting it to be a let down but I was surprised. Loved every minute of it.

Was good but not a patch on Shaun of the Dead.

The pacing of the film was bizzare, some of it moved very fast other bit very slow and I really couldn't get into it because of this.

It was very very clever, more so than Shaun of the Dead but I didn't like the story and character interaction as much. There were just too many characters so you never got the development like SOTD.

GF has never seen Spaced or Shaun of the dead so I think she was a bit overwhelmed.

And the plot? Good lord, some people here are complimenting it! It was quite poor. It doesn't matter in a film like this of course, but it would have been nice for it to have taken the mickey out of it's story arc a bit more. It really was Channel 5 B-movie stuff. That's fine, but it was presented (underneath the superficial jokes) as an overly serious narrative. Shuan Of the Dead managed the unfolding of it's plot better.

That, my dear, is what we call deadpan.

that's the only real problem i can see with this film, if you havent seen spaced or sotd you're missin out on a lot of the comedy, cornetto being the biggest one imo, but luckily most of the comedy is outright in your face such as (***potential spoiler***) the bicycle bit (***)

the storyline though, it was well done, taking the audience to think of one outcome and just throwing it all out at the end for an awesome ending, i see how soem can see that as just cheap, i think it was executed perfectly, especially with the way some countryside farmers do really think

It wasn't deadpan, that suggests a note of comedy in the proceedings. The plot itself was just presented "as is". The jokes were funny, but the plot spoiled it for me sah!

Saw this tonight.. I honestly can't remember when a film last made me laugh THIS much :D

Well worth seeing, its absolutely hilarious.

Saw it last night - a sold out screening inh Newcastle...

...Not been in a packed cinema in years...Forgot how good it is :D

Quality film though.

Also saw it last night in probably the same screen as Penski.

Quality film, whole audience seemed to love it.

Was sat second row from the back with my girlfriend - left of centre (looking at t'screen).

Was the 19:20 showing :)

You weren't the annoying student behind me who kept putting his feet on the back of my seat and bragging about how he'd been drinking since midday...?

:p

Yup, also at the 19:20 showing. I presume you were at the empire cinema in the gate? The que for that showing was huge! Although it didn't help that the were only taking cash i'm guessing.

And yeh i was on second back row as well, but had no annoying students behind me. :D

This film was great! Not quite as good as Shaun of the Dead imo. Some great standout bits in it for me though. That last half an hour was just gold, it really made the film. It could have done without the over-the-top gore though.
