How are energy drinks legal?

If you consume too much of anything it can kill, or at least do unpleasant things to you. Having a basic knowledge of caffeine, effective dosing and personal tolerance levels, it’s not hard to moderate your intake of these drinks, unless of course you believe it’s the responsibility and mandate of the state to control and nanny every aspect of your life, including your diet.

Hate the taste of coffee (and tea actually) and energy drinks always seem to taste amazinggg.

Only drink them as a treat when I need to stay awake for as long as possible for whatever reason. Not more than once a month.

Wasn't there a story years ago of this guy who had to have half of his brain removed after being addicted to these energy drinks?

My sister used to drink a decent amount of energy drinks daily.

She told me that when she stopped there were severe withdrawal symptoms.

Caffeine withdrawal is a thing. It's far less severe than withdrawal from some drugs, but it is a real thing. I've experienced it myself when I've had time off work because I was in the habit of drinking far more coffee at work than at home.

One example of many. Caffeine withdrawal is a recognised condition. Not a bad one, but recognised to exist.

By way people saying under 16 can't buy as illegal. That isn't actually true. Supermarkets decided it was good etc. However lots of smaller corner stores and such don't care and as no law sell them to anyone whom wants one.

Edit: I like many of them but I don't get a buzz or anything and that probably more that I drink 5-6 black coffees a day.

If you’re knackered and unable to make a coffee, they can give you the lift you need to finish what you’re doing.

The Tesco own brand (Kick?) ones worked better for me than RB or Monster.

erm what? It is possible for someone to be soo tired that they can't make a cup of coffee? Surely at that point you need to sack the day and get some much needed rest.
