How Big is your digital Music folder?

70 Gb MP3 and 4 (AAC). Some old 128kbps CD conversions, more recently 320kbps.

I have probably listened to less than half. There's quite a lot of rubbish in there.

95 GB over 18,100 files, almost all MP3 with the odd FLAC album here and there. Quite a bit came from a friend's hard drive and it isn't listened to.

1.6gb all 320kbp mp3s, 189 tracks

use to have about 80GB deleted it all. What is the pointed only ever listened to a mere fraction of it and I went legal. Now only buy individual tracks I want and listen to and the odd album.

so do i, except i ripped all mine...well, in the process of.

was there a point in there somewhere, or was it just a poorly thought and thinly veiled stab at piracy?

No, I was making the point exactly as you see it: I much prefer CDs to even lossless digital formats, and vastly more than lossy formats.

lol, right.

If you weren't going to believe the answer, what was the point of asking the question? And why do you find the answer so hard to believe as well? Digital is not the "right" way of getting music, just a way. Some people still prefer LPs for instance. I disagree with them, but have no issue with them wanting their sounds in that form. Each to his/her own, as they say.

meridian, your original statement and what you are saying now are two different things.

0GB. I like buying and owning CDs.

M

0gb, because you like buying and owning cd's. correct ?

No, I was making the point exactly as you see it: I much prefer CDs to even lossless digital formats, and vastly more than lossy formats.

you prefer music on cd's to ripped music. Fine but...completely different.

I hope you can see now why your original statement looks like a dig at the pirates amongst us ? after all, every one of my rips is from my own cd's which i bought myself. I like owning cd's too, but i like the convenience off ripping them as well.
