HOW DO I BUILD MY PC NOW IVE BOUGHT ALL THE BITS?

Leave that bracket.... Your case should have usb/firewire connectors ... you should really connect those up first and if your mobo has any usb ports left over then use those for the bracket

EDIT : case doesn't have firewire ... so use the bracket for firewire only if needed

Don't worry about asking stupid questions - better you get it right.

You're doing fine btw, and these forums are pefect for what you're attempting - and the pictures are helping out a lot.

Edit: definitely leave the bracket out for now - infact don't attach anything that's unecessary to powering up your new build for the first time. You just want the very basics attached for your first power up just to test the system. You then add other components once you've established your new build is stable etc. (Helps out with the troubleshooting process if you were to have a problem)

ok - so im at the point where i need to connect all the cables together and place the GPU in.

im considering a dummy run of putting the gpu in to see that it fits.

should i tie up all the cable issues first?because to be fair i have wires coming out from all angles, and also other cables still need connecting to the bluraydrive and hard drive amongst other things

here she is - ready or not!!!!

I would just make sure that there aren't any cables rubbing against spinning fans etc. I wouldn't do any cable tidying until you've established the rig is stable - because if you do run in to problems you'll have to undo all your tidying to get components out.

Cable tidy at the end of the build when you know it's stable - for now just make sure that they're out of the way.

Edit: you're so close now to powering up - best of luck.

You do know how to get into the BIOS when you power up? (hold the delete key when it boots up)

Ditto, Subliminal Aura is right, you'll have real problems getting them in otherwise. If you've fitted the card already and you haven't - take the card back out.

I can't see them connected in your last pic.

Looks fine - getting closer...

You must have small hands to get those wires in with the gpu in.

And again, you do know how to get in to the BIOS? (hold down the delete key when it powers up)
