4. Add boiling water just above the half-way mark

I could understand if it was beans (personally i wouldn't know if there was a special way of using them, and just bung em in anyway ) but instant coffee etc has instructions on the back :/
In terms of flavour I can't imagine it makes the blind bit of difference to cheapo instant coffee. And if the milk is added last it's easier to judge how much to use.
